Weather was :rain: yesterday between 6 - 11am, then from 12pm onwards it was :hotsun:. Cleaned out one of the :hhog: houses . Went into front garden and spent 2 1/2 hours hacking at the overgrowth a bit more and pruned the Lavender Budleja and two large Hydrangeas that we discovered under all the weeds and brambles last autumn. They don't look too healthy at the moment, but I'm hoping to save them. Spent 1 1/2 hours in back garden, pottering about and more pruning.

Went to South Stacks for a cappacino and chocolate caramel slice as a reward :loll:

Sounds like a good day Lucius! Especially the coffee and cake :)

It's looking like a dry day here so far :fingers crossed: not going to the plot but will be putting up the walk-in greenhouse, cold frame and having a tidy up in the garden today (mainly so I can get on with my washing too!)

        Didn't do too much today.

We had a four mile walk through the forest and then went shopping. That took up all morning but we did a lot of verbal planning on the way :)

This afternoon I made new edges on about 50ft of lawn (only, nearly, another 1,000ft to go ) and then split up some grasses and potted them to give us another 20 for sale. Then it was potting on about 20 Erysimum Bowles Mauve and Chelsea Jacket and about a dozen Allium Christophii. Also potted up some more Allium siculum. All for the sales table. :dbgrtmb:

Now it's time to do some cooking

P1090659.JPG P1090655.JPG P1090653.JPG As we had such an exhausting day yesterday shifting hoarded wood over at the garage with Mr Kandy and his sister ready for hiring a skip to get rid of it all we had a bit of an easier day today.

I managed to get a line or two of washing hung out to dry,did some collecting up of dead plant material and chucked it in the recycling bin as they were due today. Also got some more spring plants put into the ground but I spent more time hunting for my trowel as I get putting it down and forgetting where I put it:wallbanging:

Popped to the local garden centre as we had an £8 Voucher to spend and also a voucher for half price of any plant so as we had spotted a nice Hellebore we liked called "Tutu" so got that plus Mr Kandy got some more heavy duty gardening gloves.

Back home we had lunch then decided on going over to the lottie so that I could fill up the nut baskets for the wild birds and while Mr Kandy picked the purple sprouters I did some more composting, turning compost from one tonne bag into another.

As we were leaving I spotted the chap who owns the spotty pig and she has got babies so asked if I could see them. She has seven of them and the are so lovely:biggrin:

Too worn out for a walk today so have cooked and eaten dinner, and after typing this lot out I am off for a nice shower while Mr Kandy natters to his sister on the phone :snork:

Oh and yesterday one of Mr Kandys cousins aged 92 passed away and there is talk of the funeral being on Friday which seems quick but as it is a burial there isn't the waiting time like there is for the Crem.If the funeral is next week then we won't be going as I am going to be going elsewhere and I can't weightbare for two weeks, although Mr Kandys sister is talking of a mobility scooter for me...I think not....:rolleyespink:

One more day and it should be up and ready.
The walls are done and the roof is half-done. But I only took these two early stage photos.

Had a mega busy day in the garden today. Started to put my plans into action.
              IMG_7549.JPG
Pruned the buddleia then decided to cut down a tree and then take out a Laurel that had some disease and i didnt want it anymore. Then dug out a load of hellebores that were growing underneath other shrubs and out of sight and replanted them in my shady border.
              IMG_7537.JPG

Then I decided to move a skimmia from the full sun in the front to the shady border and then thought i may aswell dig up the big rhododendron that wasn't doing well in full sun and put that in the shady border too.

              IMG_7542.JPG
Also collected lots of plants that were scattered on the border i was clearing and planted them inbetween the bulbs I had coming up.

Such a productive day and feeling HAPPY again :snorky:

Lots of other tedious, boring things to do today involving a car journey and shopping bags, which ate up several hours of my time:gaah: Lovely weather today too. I really did have every intention of doing something gardening related when I returned. Sat on caravan steps with a coffee listening to the birds and browsed through a gardening catalogue - does that count as gardening:snorky: :heehee:

I pulled the walk-in green house out of the box, looked at it, a gust of wind went passed and felt defeat. I did manage to put the plastic cold frame together but didn't put the cover on, again fearing it would blow away. Talked to the chickens and came back in, too cold. Gone colder again today so gardening in my head :frown: hyacinths have popped up and 2 tulips are pretty eager!

Exhausted already. Cut down another tree and been using a pick axe to get the stump out. Moved a hebe and then moved a hydrangea and it was soooo heavy. Having a break then going to move another rhodo doing badly from full sun in the front to the shady border in the back. So tired already :snooze:
