Tried sieving the kitchen waste compost but it's still too wet, so put the bulk of it in the greenhouse to dry out. DSCI0002 (23).JPG

I started on the alpine pots and sinks today and was surprised to find that most of the plants had survived throughout the Winter. Having said that I had already been to the local Plant Nursery for a medium sized pot, with a bit of character, and somehow came away with two multiple plug plant trays for the wall pots, some Herbs, various Primroses, and couldn't find a bag of white decorative gravel that I'd really gone for.:wallbanging: So I then visited Lidl's for some groceries and came away with a tray of Geraniums. After that I stopped off at Morrision's for bits and pieces and came away with some alpines and some succulents. Wickes was next door and I managed to find that bag of white decorative gravel!!:snorky: I was going to go straight home but found myself at Aldi's and bought 2 Clematis "Miss Bateman" and a Clematis "Voluceau".
I'm not going shopping again for awhile.:dunno::heehee:

Planted out 20 coreopsis golden joy plugs and 20 lavender plugs that id grown over winter.

Went to the village plant sale and bought 2 trays of african marigolds and a nice pink geranium. Was quite suprised that I had actually already got loads of the types of plants that were for sale at the plant sale....was pleased to leave with some money still in my purse! :)

Had a little pruning session yesterday. Forsythias, a couple of Fatsias and a winter flowering Lonicera fragrantissima all pruned, shredded and added to the compost heap.

Mowed and edged the lawn, it's nine days since I last mowed it and there was hardly anything in the grass box as it's been so cold and dry here for the past couple of weeks.

Did my first sowing of 'Swift' sweet corn in the heated propagator in the greenhouse.

Cleaned and disinfected greenhouses. Removed all quad grows stripped and cleaned same.
New air diffusers and piping fitted to all quads, rebuilt (two screws) and replaced back in greenhouses. Modified end topping up covers with hinges as last season some dropped into tank of quad grows and had to use temp covers.

Mowed front lawns and cut hedge. Then swept up the back patio. Gave the out of control honeysuckle a good cut back as the trellis had come away from fence and I couldn't get it back up. Gave it a feed and good drink. Need to make and fix new trellis to fence posts.

Then went to moms for lunch.
