Yesterday morning I was fertilizing one customers lawn and sawing down two trees and a hedge for another. Then after piling all the tree branches in the back of my truck I came back home and drank coffee, turned the radio up and did this and that in my yard.

I took things a bit easy today. After a two hour walk along the river we came back just to potter around.

I finished securing the chicken wire around one of the ShineyFrames (bending the bottom part back, putting in tent pegs to hold it in place and short canes to keep it upright. Then I started this year's weekly Equisetum patrol and removed lots of goosegrass at the same time. Then weaved in clematis, honeysuckle and Jasmine where they were sprouting like mad (some had gone above 8ft high :rolleyespink:).

It's rest and food time now - both of which will go on for a long time :snork:

The weather this morning was cold and dull so I put off planting the Hardy Perennials into the borders until the afternoon when the weather was sunny and warm.
So I planted 9 more Delphiniums in groups of 3 in the "walk around" border and kept a 10th back in a pot just in case any of them fail.
I had 5 Clematis to plant so two "Miss Bateman" went under the 30 year old rose "Masquerade" to join the one already there. Clematis "John Paul II", "Veluceau", "Hagley Hybrid, were planted along the Jasmine Hedge that runs along the bank of the Wildlife pond which already has three Clematis planted alongside of it.
The center border along the lawn is getting a "bit" crowded but I managed to plant a group of 3 Lupins into it, while another two went beside the large Hosta pot in the "walk around" border,
I've had a Cordyline in a large pot for over 20 years and, after a mug of tea, decided to plant it in the area between the Observatory, a Budleja, and West fence.........it looks pretty good there but I'll keep an eye on it for a while.
I've still got 6 Scabious, 3 Astrantia, a Delphinium, 2 Agapanthus, 5 Echinacea, 2 Dicentra, and several Quamash to find spaces for:scratch::doh: Again, weather permitting, that'll be another job for tomorrow.:coffee::snorky:

Ended up going in the greenhouse and giving it a good fettling. Planted some holy basil, 6 harrier squash, - few more dwarf french bean satelit (the marshalls trial ones) and some more mangetout shiraz.

Pleased to see my thai basil has sprouted as has the lemon grass :rolleyespink:

I think I'll keep a little free space in there because we seem to have a plague of invasive Zigs!

If you use a systemic weedkiller on it, it'll take the whole plant out and you won't have to bother cutting it back :)

Pottered about in the greenhouse for a couple of hours - planted out the tomatoes (six Beefmaster and two Gardener's Delight), sowed courgettes, butternut squash and a couple of cucumbers in the heated propagator and potted up half a dozen brussels sprout seedlings.

Sowed some more carrots in a large pot, moved some Gazanias and Oleanders outside after overwintering in the greenhouse.

Sowed some more spring onions and mixed lettuce in the veg plot.

Hi Snorky, it's an evergreen Group 1 so you need to do..........absolutely nothing, unless you want to curtail it's growth within bounds. I let my ramble where ever it wants to.

                            The RHS says...........

"C. armandii does not usually respond well to renovation and pruning of established plants should be limited to restricting them to the space available and removing, in spring, any leaves damaged by wind scorch"

Great thanks @ARMANDII that's the best type of pruning! Happy for it to go everywhere as it's so lovely. Just a shame the flowers don't last as long as id like them too.
