Water pots in the morning and this evening deadheaded foxgloves, roses and delphiniums. Tidied up the frost burnt hydrangea which have recovered nicely. Pruned some sort of bush into a nicer shape.

Messed about with the watering system to save some time watering.

Been looking at my heuchera and have deduced that some have a fungus :( so will be getting some spray tomorrow and cutting all the bad bits out.

What an awful thing to happen. Has Dotty done this before? Its always a shock when our pets do something unexpected, especially if its violent. I hope the cat is ok and you too??

OMG. Cutest hoggy ever!!! I've heard a lot of rustling in soem of the hedges in the back garden and hoping it's a hoggy.

She's chased cats out the garden but never been quick enough. Her pup Bea is really good withh cats as she used to stay with a woman who had a cat whilst my mum was at work-the cat would boss her about lol. The cat is ok....I think I was more shook up! The neighbour said its ok....the cat had just killed a bird! I guess it's just nature but i'll have to keep her on a lead ALL the time now. It was weird that the cat didnt run away-just puffed up its tail etc. Apparently the cat is really young and very friendly-so maybe it's never come across a dog before.

To some extent your dog was lucky. Cats can quite often do a lot of damage to dogs. They're faster, more agile and have very sharp claws. When Oscar (the cat that adopted us) was with us he was the most loving cat you could imagine. Everyone loved him (they even argued over who would come and feed and cuddle him when we went on holiday - as he lived in the greenhouse) but he had a thing about dogs. Size didn't matter, they were all barred from his garden. Apart from smaller dogs he has chased Alsatians and even a Bulldog out of the garden.

This went viral on youtube some time ago

I'm pleased that they are both OK :grphg:

Thanks @shiney , I remember that video now! Makes it even more surprising that the cat didn't do anything?! Dotty was certainly proud of herself afterwards.

@luciusmaximus those hoggies are absolutely gorgeous. Is it odd that I look at a human baby and I'm not interested whatsoever....but i feel completely opposite for a cute animal. They are sooo lovely. :wub2:

Quite normal, I am exactly the same. Often prefer the company of my pets to that of humans

Sarafi was doing his job in the garden this morning and caught a squirrel. We don't mind a couple of squirrels but they seemed to have brought the whole tribe with them whilst we were away!

Aww I love squizzers. At our old house we had loads of oak trees and dotty would go mad trying to chase them. She would literally spend hours sat under a tree watching them.

Been up to the lotty today as it has been cloudy with a nice breeze. Weeded it all and planted some of the harrier squash id been growing. Cut down the green manure and dug it over on the neighbours plot. Cut and weeded all of their pathways. Harvested some more strawbs.

Did a bit more clearing of this

                              IMG_20170621_1449239_rewind.jpg

The overgrowth was level with the cherry tree on the left. Its taken me 3 days to get to this point, just doing a little each day. Now I can actually see it I'm undecided as to what to do with it - as usual :snorky:. IMG_20170621_1449008_rewind.jpg

The area past the concrete pot I'm leaving as it is. I've seen hedgehogs go that way, so may slide a house in there. It goes through to what is going to be the secret garden.

Love the idea of a secret garden....that's my plan if we get the 5 acre plot next to the house.
