I remember a trip up to Penryn Castle (I'm sure I spelt that wrong. I think there's an "h" in there somewhere). Anyway. It was hissing it down. The coach was parked at the bottom of the hill so I got absolutely soaked going down to get it. We made our way back to Llandudno via the A55 tunnels. When we emerged from the last tunnel, the sun was shining. Apparently the sun had been shining there all day.

In my experience I found that the sky had to be clear in order to see the castle from the A55. It's worth a trip up there if you fancy a day out.

Penrhyn Castle is in Bangor and I've already been there :snorky:. I live in Penrhyn Bay on Anglesey but there is also a Penrhyn Bay in Llandudno.

Lucius, not at all. Planted a couple of hundred blue blanda over the weekend.
You did right in soaking the corms overnight before planting ......I pot mine up then plant out in spring exactly where they will look best :)
Yes, they will flower, have no fear :rasp:

He still has a couple of large roots to get out but as I am at the hospital tomorrow for a six months check up after my foot op it will be an easier day:biggrin:

I had a it of a chuckle when Mr Kandy was pushing over the trunk as it nearly fell on him as it was a bit heavy as you can guess:biggrin:

So, do I need to put the pots undercover? I was going to put mine in pots and keep them outside. I've only got 25 bulbs so thought they would look nice in the pots. I can maybe plant into garden later.

Noticed a couple of sweet peas which have sprouted ... only popped them in the gutter garden because ... well, I could! :heehee: Potted them on to overwinter  The parent plant is still giving a reasonable display, for this time of year, and it has definitely produced a LOT of seed for me to harvest and store

Sorry, I misunderstood what you originally said about planting out. I thought you meant moving the pots outside from inside :rolleyespink:.

They would be ok in or outside except inside they could dry out. Outside is best....:)

Back from the beach......so much darker and suddenly too it seems.

The light from across the water, early morning birdsong, slight sound of surf, smell of the sea and pure tranquility made it very relaxing.:) This is when I miss my old dog Spike the most! Very few people but they always seem to carry the air of energy and busyness that the later risers, despite their lie ins, seem to lack :yay:.
However, it is now the smell of autumn rather than the smell of summer despite feeling quite warm and (hopefully) the promise of another sunny day:SUNsmile:

Still involved in niece's house move and I will visit the carpet and flooring guys later to get her some cash back for messing her order up, albeit now sorted and fine. The manager knows I am coming and expecting something from him:heehee:

Have a good day everyone. Hope anyone not feeling too well enjoys it too :)

Your description of the beach sounds lovely Verdun :) apart from having to share it. I don't do sharing :lunapic 130165696578242 5:. Do you have another doggy to accompany you? I am hoping to walk down the lane to Penrhyn beach later on even if it's raining. Quite like walking on a deserted beach with sheets of rain drifting across.

Good luck with the store manager :snorky:

                          Thanks lucius :)

No, no dog right now although everyone wants to push me into it. My old dog was ...still is....so uniquely wonderful so more time for him seems right!!!

Yep! Even if it is raining that deserted beach is great, isnt it? Pure escapism and for free!:rasp:

You will know when the time is right to have another dog. And, I'm sure Spike would want you to give a home to another dog that will make you as happy as he obviously made you. I miss having a doggy.

We are lucky up here that there are beaches that the tourists are unaware of, so in the height of the season we go to these. Penrhyn is not the prettiest or the sandiest but its two minute walk from the house and I can usually guarantee to have it to myself
