It might have been tested in Cornwall but it's English through and through...... Designed in Oxfordshire and built in Bristol :)

I would have thought Cornwall was too heavy to launch into space:dunno::heehee:

@ARMANDII, thank you for the compliment. Coming from one of my gardening gurus, I'm honoured.... just go sparingly with the compliments, don't want me getting a bit big-headed!

An interesting time in the garden today. My planned task was to transplant the borage seedlings to give them the space to develop around an evening primrose starter clump. Tick! But then, I thought I should also relocate some self sown sweet William seedlings; tick!

Where Mr Apprentice Developer cut the rear boundary "hedge" last week, consisting of conifers and closely packed ash trees (it is now an appalling mess/eyesore), I noticed that he had pushed my longer stems of solanum crispum over the fence of my neighbours garden :th scifD36: I carefully manipulated them back over to my side and then spent a little while untangling each stem and tying it to the trellis we put up last year. Looks much better and plugs a gap in the privacy ratings :blue thumb:

Then, I cleared all the bits of branch/twigs which he had dropped over my side and put them in a pile in a quiet corner. Not expecting anything to want to use it, but, it's there if any wildlife decide to curl up under it or nest build from it. Mind you, this is in the area my girls forage in, so I think they may scratch around in it before any of natures mini creatures get a look in :chicken:

Working in the sun was gorgeous and it became quite warm out there! Good job too because I had 3 laundry loads drying out there :heehee:

No gardening today but for opening the GH, warm day but chilly in the shade. Had a unexpected frost this morning  it hasn't blacken anything but I did leave the Ensete in the GH hope it hasn't killed it.

Emptied out and threw away a few broken pots, planted the last of the daffodil bulbs. Pruned my hydrangeas (quite severely, oops), used the leaf blower extensively, adding the collected leaves to black bin bags in my leaf mould making corner), stockpiled a big bunch of apples to rescatter on the lawn when my annual winter fieldfare visits, put down Algon on the concrete slabs at the front of the house, did a bit of general stirring around of pots in the garden to put them in more sheltered locations, made wire toppers for the pots containing bulbs (after an early squirrel attack last week), looked at the overgrown conifers and then looked away quickly. Only wish out of sight was out of mind!

I'm certainly the Queen of hedgehog poo :eeew:. Five hogs equals an absolute mountain of it on a daily basis. I placed Emmalina and Jemima ( 2 babies ) in a carrier this morning whilst I cleaned out the cage. They pooped in the carrier and when I put them back into the cage Emmalina had a wander around and pooped everywhere again. SERIOUSLY :wallbanging:. Had to clean cage out again. I wonder if hedgehog poo would be any good as a fertilizer for the garden :ideaIPB:

:cmonhug: The general advice is to leave pruning hydrangeas until the Spring, especially the flower heads. However, like you, I gave mine a bit of a haircut the other week  :heehee:

Today, I turned my attention to my little patch of garden at the front of the house - kept saying I would do it, kept meaning to do it, but, today I thought: enough is enough! :paladin: Herb Robert has been busy making himself at home in there and, as pretty as those pink flowers might be, he had to go! :nonofinger: Swept all of the leaves which were adorning the basement steps/floor and filled a black bag, which is now tied and put away in a quiet corner in the chooks end of the garden. Planted out some cyclamen and heucheras and just generally gave it a bit of a tidy up.

Now, while all that was going on, a very nice gentleman walked by en route to selling his poppies. I explained I'd already bought mine but we chatted for a little while anyway. As we parted company, he let slip he is the chairman of our local gardening group. :heehee: :help: :heehee:
I've finished my planting, leaf sweeping, unwanted wildflower removals and was gathering my bits and bobs as he made his return walk past my front garden.
"You've made a lovely job of that, my girl!" :blue thumb:
Ooooh, I say, I actually blushed!!! :lunapic 130165696578242 5: I took it as high praise from Mr Garden Club Chair, formerly of Pimlico :dbgrtmb:
