Removed more thatch from the front lawn, banana in for the winter and cannas dug up. Waiting for the first frost for the dahlias and done.

Not strictly me or the garden but..

My father has been an absolute gem this weekend helping out with the allotments, he's dug over where the pumpkin patch was and also started on plot 2! Mal, who I share one of the plots with said he can get lovely well-rotted manure so he's been back and forth humping bags of poo with him to our shared plot :pathd: :poo:

Earlier this evening my old man rings me up to tell me what's been going on and what's been said..the site has been offered a greenhouse by someone who's bought the house in front of the allotments.. the site manager and secretary have only gone an offered it to me first!! I'm landed!! Super thrilled, no idea how big it is but I don't really care!     :pacanana:

Didn't get out into the garden till late past 4pm, so it been a rush to move pots and dig up vulnerable plants before tonight frost. A few plants have been brought into the houses for now , tender fuchsia , salvia , bannana, took some cutting while I was at it, but had to pot them up in the kitchen it had already gone to dark.

Picked the last of this year flowers for a vase to cheer me up for the gloomy days to come.

I've taken a pruning saw to all the lower dead branches on the pines. They look a lot tidier now and it's let some evening sun in. :)

Well, finally started on the Fuchsia cuttings. Taken around 60 but didn't have time to pot them so they're all in water until tomorrow.
Still got Carnations, Pinks and Salvias to do.

I think my bedroom is gonna be ultra f u l l this Winter :)

We don't have frost forecast @BeeHappy it's supposed to be around 5 deg. The last couple of years we haven't had any frosts until January. Last Winter we only had two, both in January .

They're in little plastic cups on my kitchen windowsill.

You've just reminded me Beebee i totally forgot about my chocolate cosmos. Not been too impressed with it though to be honest, very small flowers and hardly any scent. I remember growing it when they first came out in the early 90's lovely scent on 2/3" flowers. This ones flowers are barely an inch across.

@KFF Is it in a pot or the ground? Can i be cheeky and ask how old is it > I think the tubers take a while to plump up mines flowered well and lovely fragrance...Not a posh job either as it was only a cheapo from Wilkos bargain bonanza ;)
Im going repot mine into a bigger pot next year and i usually just plunge the pot into the ground as i daren't risk it planted up it's too wet here I would be scared of it rotting :frown: I think its probably about 4 years old now - To be honest I don't know about your weather but I do think we had a pretty cack summer so Im not judging anything too harshly this year as most things had to cope with such changeable days even mornings to evenings were so unpredictable and there was I felt a very low light level this year so plants didn't get too good a deal overall - but onwards and upwards our gardens are never as good as they're gonna be next year as they say :heehee:
