It's two years old also from Wilkinsons . I grow it in a pot ( 6" ) and plunge it as well. It's put on loads of growth and has been flowering from about May and is still flowering now.
Our weathers not been too bad, if anything on the dry side. Only decent rain we had was July/August. Still having to hand water everything now.

Maybe like mine it needs to mature on a bit more...as you say they do have a long flowering period - and I like the stems when the flowers have finished too -I use them in a vase, they have really pretty spent heads
It's amazing how different the weather is - I think ive had to water a handful of times this year. The dew alone saves me the job :heehee:

Luciusmaximus, no I dont think one winter's covering with tarpaulin etc. will kill any weeds. Many weeds go dormant anyway. Annual weeds will likely sprout in abundance when exposed to the light again. I would prefer to remove any weeds you see :)

Back from the beach......glorious down there. A touch of coolness across the sea, blue sky and calm. Sunny already and set for a lovely day

Busy this morning but hope to get something done in the garden in late afternoon.......mowing for example. Grass still growing fast so twice a week mowing is still needed:)

I need to take 6 trugs of rubbish to the recycling. Only cleared about 5 metres of the bed I am refurbishing, and this is my second dump trip.

I recently went to the dump 3 times within a couple of hours. I was reported to the council licensing office. They asked me what I was carrying. I'm reluctant to do it now.

@Verdun I was in my car. Apparently some taxi drivers have been taking fares with dirty cars. I can't see how that would benefit anybody.

I must admit that if my car is loaded up for the tip and I get a call I will give them the option. It would have to be someone I know well.

A slight change of tactics today. I have come to the point where I'm finding minimal soil contamination, if any at all. Instead of shoveling it all up and piling it up at the back I'm just breaking it up and raking it out of the way. I will go back and fork out the clay base and mix in my manure/bark mulch another day.

I have the added excitement now of slicing off the grass before I can turn the soil. My finishing line will be from the shovel to the barrel.

Its nice to get to the point where you can see where you're going.

Sounds good to me Gary. Hope Im not repeating the obvious but turf placed upside down is a good use of it. I lay it at the base of a "trench".
Take your time, get lots of ideas about planting and combinations and make sketches...or, as you did on the computer. I constantly change my mind but eventually whittle it down to exactly what I want.
Saw some bargains in the plant department of our local B&M......worth a chat to the garden dept manager and make an offer. Similarly in B&Q, the guy (eventually) ceded plant space will be needed soon to make room for xmas trees :)
Taxis are seen as business users so seen as an opportunity to make charges KFF?

@KFF My car is a taxi. It is the only car I have access to when my wife is at work.

The licensing department are quite vigilant. Its not a bad thing. At least it keeps the cowboys at bay. I've never had any bother from them.

@KFF Not a problem. As a point of contention, technically my car isn't a taxi. The picture above is a taxi. If I were to respond to a raised arm I would be in a whole world of trouble. I'm a a stickler for the rules. The consequences far outway the benefits.

Of course I knew that :nonofinger:

(Note to self. Tomorrow, take turf out of bin.)

Looking good, @Jack Sparrow. You must be pleased to see it taking shape. It will be great to look back next summer, and see how much it has changed. I liked the cat sneaking into the picture!
