@Verdun very wet here too but improving by tomorrow - according to weather forecast. Awwww, I bet little Nico is the centre of attention every time he goes out :). The one pond plant appears to have rotted away completely, there's nothing left of it, don't know about roots as haven't taken basket out of pond.

We've had half a dozen solar lamps for a few years, which I always put out again in the spring. We have them on the rockery set on the "white," option. I couple of weeks ago I bought two more from a garden centre for the narrow bed in front of the koi pool, these I've set on the "multi-colour," option.
£4.50 each seemed a ridiculously cheap price, so today I went back and bought two more.

Too wet for any gardening, (not that any is needed), or golf as usual, so it's playing my new leccy piano or my tenor sax in between watching the snooker on telly. (I have a very understanding wife).

Have a closer look......were they very small plants when you put them in the pond lucius? I am a great believer in growing on plants before planting out in the big wide world. They are then more able to resist pests, diseases and the environment :)

Rain has stopped here, some sun and brighter. A few days of dry weather is in the offing.

Bet your neighbours love you DHR :snorky: Mind you love the sound of saxophone.

On my travels this morning I popped into a nursery where some plants were sold as clearance so picked up perfectly good primulas in 3 litre pots with lots of flowers and buds to open for 75p each. Grabbed a couple of fuchsias, pinched them back and potted them on. Potted on tithonias, cleomes, cosmos into 2 litre pots.....they are growing so fast now. :)

Fortunately my neighbours are deaf. But I don't play my saxophone loud or after 7.00pm.
I do play my piano late on sometimes, but I've headphones for that.

However my wife did mention that even at low volume, she can feel the bass from the new piano's sub-woofer, through the frame of her chair in the other room even with the doors shut. So I've taken it off the floor and sat it on a polystyrene box on the carpet, which cuts most of it out.

I've just bought a Honeyberry plant from Wilko for £2.50.
Going to pot it up now.

@Verdun I bought the forget me not from Puddle Plants. It was quite small but there was no advice to grow it on, so I put it straight into pond. The creeping jenny and golden buttons I bought from local garden centre, slightly bigger plants and wintered outside, so thought they would be ok. The forget me not has turned black. I just realised that this probably happened when the pond froze over . Should I cut it right back and hope for regrowth?

Lucius, I would return them to the gc.....they will replace. Yes, the forget me not were prob too small...however, good for moist soil but not really in water!!!! :noidea:

DHR, my nephew, when about 12, was an aspiring DJ.....heavy/garage/house music. I set him up here making a dj studio, decks, vinyl and huge speakers. He placed the speakers on garage roof and other places where the "music" was LOUD. Had complaints from the neighbours. He is now a leading paramedic with ideas of replicating all this at his home. Good luck to his neighbours!!!
Mind you, I regret never learning to play an instrument.....my brother is an accomplished guitarist, my mother on the piano so .........

We all can regret not doing something. But learning to play an instrument takes a lot of time and you can be unhappy with your rate of progress which can be discouraging. Pete Townsend once said said, "he locked himself in his bedroom and didn't come out until he could play."

My youngest son said once he wished he'd inherited my musical abilities, to which I replied it's a case of learning not inheriting.

None of our kids are musical but two of our youngest grandkids are showing an interest. But the eldest one as did our son, went through the "ukulele phase" a few years when it was all the rage, but their instruments (which weren't cheap) are now gathering dust.

Been out to the GH and potted on the busy lizzies - trailing petunia which take ages when they start getting tangled up, and one of my tomato plants suncherry premium which is delicious, as good as sungold.
GH staring to fill up but I've got a feeling I am going to have to bring some in for the weekend / week.

@Verdun I will remove the forget me not tomorrow and stick it in the bog garden - 50-50 chance for it. My fault for not researching properly. The local garden centre will not give refunds just credit notes and they wouldn't give one or replace plants based on the weather causing them to fail. An act of god would be their words I imagine :snorky:.
