That will look pretty good there soon Gary......Totally Tangerine will flower all summer; here they do so over the winter too at times. Mango is one of my favourite kniphofias.....two points though; watch out for slugs, they love knips and two, remove spent flower stalks asap. Both TT and Mango will benefit from feeding during the summer and slow release granules are ideal for this :)

I like the waterfall of flowers Martin.......convolvulous maritima would create a sheet of blue all summer...??

Not much time to garden today and when I could do so the rain came mid afternoon. However, managed to pot up some large heliotrope arborescens Chatsworth into their summer display pots and top off with fine grit. They will provide fantastic "cherry pie" fragrance all summer long. Also third potting on of some cosmos plants.....one more potting on into 2 litre pots before planting out prob in late May :)

Woke up to a bright sunny day. Rushed through my daily household chores. Hey Ho Mike is in a positive mood. Look out garden! I'm on my way. Phone rings. Morning dad. I'm outside, alright to come in. Why ask, you are family. Amanda sadly has so many health problems. She and her kids take good care of me. Amanda's latest problems is being diagnosed with.
            Parkinsons.

May I respectfully ask you all to be very patient when talking to a Parkinson's victim. In short the patient's speech gets slower and slower, interspersed with moments of forgetting where they are in the conversation. This is such a problem with Amanda. At one time I recall saying. Hey lass, do you ever stop and come up for air. Now it is difficult to bite your tongue and not asy. Spit it out girl.

So in comes Amanda and pooch. Cup of green tea for her and a digestive for Poppy the pooch. Time now is 1300hrs. News and lunch. Amanda has now left. News and lunch over, yawwwwwnnnn. Forty winks. Woke up, froze stiff. Sky was overcast and it felt like winter again. So the garden has been spared my attacks for today.

I love that idea, @martin-f and @Verdun. Now there's a thought for what to get to cover the edges of the pond... You have both opened a whole new set of ideas for me!

Enjoy your pond planning Sian :)

A night of rain but already it is brightening up and a dry day to come. No beach visit today...instead I will be clearing and cleaning the front room; hopefully just a few hours cos I made a good start on it last evening:).

The garden is looking sparkling and fresh after the rain.....I'm sure everything has put on loads of growth:)

Nothing much done yesterday. Had walk on beach again and watched the weather front approaching. Winds strong enough to make eyes and nose stream and tire me out. Dragged a few pots into shelter - again. Spent some time looking at pond area trying to decide on my next move and looked at this, also trying to decide what to do with it. Underneath the grass is only 1-2" soil and then there's gravel. I did have a plan for a Herb garden until I discovered the lack of soil. Whatever I do will have to be raised. I could possibly put another pond here.

@Verdun Finally leveled my Hypericum Hidcote today.

My climbing French beans have started germinating so I moved them from my propagator from my house to the greenhouse shelf.
I then started to remove the old compost from my bean tub to fill it with a new mix.

                      Excellent Pushkin :)
Gorgeous day but very little time for gardening except for a cuppa late pm. Got a few ideas though for planting over next few days. Nice to see all the dahlias are shooting too :)

Hi run wires along the fence today for climbers and training other plants i need to put some trellis on the top of the fence at a later date,

Issue i have here is its shaded by the fence both corners get very little sun one corner sun rise other sunset, once something gets its head to fence height it has sun from morning to night so whats planted here needs tying down to stop it bolting (apart from the runner beans that ive put in) and having gaps everywhere,

I am going to pick the turf up tomorrow and get it down the parts of the project i need to work on can be accessed without walking on the new turf.

Today I finished setting up and planting the Autopots, toms on one side of the greenhouse and peppers on the other. The feed lines and valves are installed and working, so now I can relax and let automation do its thing. :snooze:
