Sorry you've not seen it Lucius as I thought you might have done...the parents are very protective and I suppose they will have a go with other birds....they should come with the extra pellets mate.[IMG]

We have ring doves here and they used to be frightened of the pigeons ...until one got aggressive on the bird bath with a pigeon about 2yrs back and that broke the ice for the rest of them as they have a go at them now, especially if they've come in for water :wub2:birds mate and graceful :love30:

I carried on snipping after I took the picture and I think those two pieces you mention are gone.

I've ordered a Fuchsia Magellenica Alba and I've got a Riccartonii.
One of them is going in.

Started to build The Great Wall. Up here in North Tyneside it's a bit of a tradition :snorky:

Actually, The Wall is a side product of our new border. I obviously should have though beforehand what to do with the soil... this is just the turf off. Plenty of rocky clay still to be dug out before the manure and compost can go in. :help:

The shape is actually looking quite good, it's like a slice of a circle in the wedge shaped lawn. I'm planning to cut a small circular bed in the optic centre of the imaginary circle as the soil and the lawn are hopeless there.

But now it's glass of wine and rest after lunch :phew:

Pruned off a few hundred fading blooms from the last two wisterias.
Tied up a few clematis, "mist sprayed" the acers and chucked a lot of water on the lawn.
Also gave the roses a dose of rose clear.

just roaming about the garden pulling any weeds, clipping dead branches from shrubs, pulling extra ground cover. neighbors coming by for 3 burning shrubs I don't want, and a few hostas ---some of my hostas have gotten really huge in areas, and made babies in other areas not needed. was suppose to rain.

Excellent spell of rain overnight and fine drizzle in the morning; very humid and very warm since lunchtime. Didnt get the deluge here that some had but was very welcome.

Put more lettuce in, some weeding and planted out another dahlia (One of The Bishop's Children) and checked my Watsonias ...expecting good things from them this summer. :)

Had a discussion with my neighbour about buying a piece of ground adjacent to us; we could get together with one or two others and turn it into an energy efficient unit for 6 houses. Will have another meeting to look at the possibilities. :noidea::noidea:

Giving plants away Gail? Ditto here. Usually to local hospice to help with their fund raising.

Still upset Liverpool lost the Champions Cup Final.....if Real Madrid hadn't scored 3 goals Liverpool would have won! :noidea: So unfair:sad:

                        Had to rethink @Gail_68.
                        Couldn't dig up the Riccartonii.

                        Here are the options ATM.
                        Fuchsia Margaret.
Acer Beni Maiko in a pot. (nice red colour).
                        Salix Flamingo.
                        Mme Alfred Carriere rose.

I'm quite warming to the rose as it's in a quarter barrel on a north facing wall and really needs to be moved.

                        What do you think?

                        Edit:
                        Madame Alfred Carriere it is:
I don't think it's ever had the sun on it.

Well it been a hot sunny day and quite windy at times. Been out in the garden this afternoon, planted out lots of plants - veronica - monarda's squaw - B of Cobdam - sanguisorba - aster monch - salvia uliginosa and others. Move some other plants around and made plans for more :) I desperately want a ligularia britt marie crawford and a few others :snorky:.

Replaced the peony which hasn't really done much the past few years, planted rose lady of shallot in its place, I get more out of the rose anyway in terms of flowering. I wanted Rose L of S last year I just need a excuse to buy one  I got a sweat on preparing the ground for the rose , so took my t shirt off for the time being. Now I have a lovely shade of red on my back .

Mum popped round later, she need help staking her delphiniums cause the ground to hard to push the stakes in, end up planting more plants for her instead for the rest of the afternoon.

Moving cacti out of house, planting annuals and half hardy annuals, peas and sweetcorn. Dead heading, weeding, watching the insects. Then watering and potting up/on.
