Had some plants delivered today :) my clematis arrived ( Betty cornering - Walenburg - Picotee seedling ) and a few plants from secret garden club monarda scorpion cause mine don't look to be up to much, Acontium stainless steel and a lewisa for the greenhouse. Just been out and picked some strawberries and put the cardboard in the compost bin. I put nearly all the dahlia outside so they get a good watering from tomorrow rain forecast. Hopefully get them plant this Sunday.

Returned from the GC disappointed, want some plants for my summer planting scheme in the large pots / barrels but nothing I fancied.

I've done a bit of a tidy, and tried to prop things up a bit :rolleyespink:
I've dead headed, and snipped off broken stems :frown:
I've retrieved (almost) all my plant pots from various places :love30:
I've thanked Mother Nature for leaving my delphiniums alone :dbgrtmb:
And I've watered again, no weather forecast promising a deluge will fool me again :th scifD36:

Made a start on cutting back, re tying a few things yesterday. Not in garden for very long as painting in the lounge ( the room not canvas ) and need to concentrate on that.

Overnight light drizzle now almost cleared. Sun promised by mid morning
Prob be a day of weeding, picking produce and maybe the odd bit of planting; lawn mowing too.
I will be calling in on local nursery so a mosey around there will no doubt result in another addition to the garden:)

No raining here yet, just sunny and hot and dry. Have to water the garden at every evening. One good thing here is: it´s so dry that weeds don´t grow.

The first buds in zucchinis. Leaves are still quite small but hopely it will survive because of everyday watering.

Many thanks @Verdun. All that was lying down is now off:mute::noidea:. At least the flattened stems are not now a constant reminder. I have a MUCH bigger problem tho. 1 of my Liquid Ambers (2nd favourite tree of mine) is rocking violently and the gales have broken all it's ties:mute::mute::mute::mute::mute:. I am busy trying to bodge something with binder twine and hose pipe for bark protection but am in for a coffee as it is hard work trying to get the tree to stay still (still windy here) long enough to get it anchored again. The tree is about 8 years old and was quite a big specimen when bought (maybe too big and not enough root system when dug up by seller?). It has never been that stable but not root bound when bought as I checked. Possibly there is a big boulder or rock under where it is planted. Anyway it ain't coming out unless it falls down! It is very healthy and not showing signs of distress....yet after it's pounding:fingers crossed:

Not doing anything in the garden, just water the blueberry pots later. It's cooler today but not a lot of rain.

Planted out all the summer bedding, next week might sow the wallflower seeds.:)

We had some rain through the night..morning was sunny but showers kept coming in between and we've just had another heavy down pour, so in between rain coming and the sun blasting :dunno:...did my usual sweep of back garden then bird dishes and went on the front moved old leaves from Cordylines besides extra rooting, moved any odd weed that had forced through the gravel, then cut the weeping willow and finally brushed the gravel level :phew:

A bit more tying up of toppled plants except for one my Eryngiums and a Phlox, which both snapped when I tried to lift them . Looking into pond I realised just how much blanket weed there is in now, despite having created some shade for it with a sheet and poles :gaah:. Had a go at weeding around the baths but gave up after about half an hour, not in a weeding frame of mind.

My potato plants have been flattened but still embedded in the compost. Should I leave them and hope they will continue to grow??

My spuds got flattened to Lucius, I am just leaving them until I want to lift them. The stems haven't broke just leaning on each other
