WHAT JOBS ARE WE DOING IN THE GARDEN TODAY 2018

Tried watering the front garden last evening while it was in the shade but found out the water pressure was a bit low so only had a trickle coming out of the pipe

Went back indoors and was talking to Mr Kandy about it and he thought it was me causing the pressure to drop while he was trying to have a shower

Found out later that there has been quiet a large water leak due to a burst water main which has affected a large area of surrounding villages and it wasn’t going to be finished being put right until 4am this morning We quickly filled the kettle and water bottles and put the bottles in the fridge so that if the water supply dries up at least we shall be able to make a cup of tea.
This morning still have water flowing out the taps but the flow is still a bit low so will see what happens when I water the back garden before it gets too hot.Dare not do it now as I don’t want to upset the miserable neighbour with my hosepipe squirting water on the borders as she has her bedroom windows open,although we have to put up with her son hitting the fence panel with his cricket bat and ball

 

Just been out to give the treeferns a good soak. I say been out, but only had to turn the tap on. Love lazy watering systems cost pennies too.

I'll say this Verdun he never stops...mind you some people are very energetic what ever the age..there's a lady by we in her 60s, she's slim goes dancing regular and walks like a speed walker

Well today as always making besides some ….god it's become a right ritual this lot as ….then outside sweep yard..fill bird baths and crap from slabs and see if anymore garden need removing...then it's relaxing after

 

One of the problems in many areas is the addition of new builds to an already over-taxed supply.
In addition many water suppliers reduce the pressure after midnight until five or even six in the morning. This is I presume to relieve the pressure on unrepaired leaks and help to prevent more in an aging system.
This can mean insufficient pressure to enable you to have a shower after coming in late one evening.

I'm experiencing a general lack of pressure and have for some time. So much so, that I've had to remove the return springs for my two lawn sprinklers, as the pressure with them in isn't great enough now to lift the sprinkler heads. They still work but when I turn them off I have to push them down with my foot. There's been a lot of new builds in Trafford and they probably haven't uprated the pumps. There's "private enterprise" for you.
