As usual, it didn't work out that way

Later in the day we did more weeding and planted out more courgettes and Patty Pan squash. I also potted on some more chillies. Mrs Shiney worked out there until 9.30 p.m.

In between we did a lot of watering.

This morning I'd done a load of weeding by 5.30 a.m. and picked another six courgettes and five pounds of rhubarb. :blue thumb:

Nice breeze yesterday morning but wind dropped by the afternoon and very hot and humid. Went to hardware store in the morning to buy hammerite, liquid seaweed, chicken pellets, four wooden border edgers and a few non gardening items.

In the afternoon I painted more of the boat seat, just got a tiny bit of cutting in to do today and she's finished. She looks like a new boat :snorky:. I painted one of the wood border edges and hubby did the other three. Spent half an hour removing blanket weed from the pond and peering into the depths. More watering. We sat on the bench out front with coffee and welsh cakes. Came indoors to find the cat had decided to sit on the lid of the hammerite paint that I had left on the worktop in the utility room :hate-shocked: . The paint had dried onto his fur around his bum, tail and back legs, so a pair of scissors and a razor was needed to remove it - amateur dramatics from cat whilst I was doing that.

Hey! Who pulled the curtains? :love30:Cloudy and raining out there! Its put paid to some jobs I wanted to do but I did some late evening planting yesterday and the rain is welcome for that. Thunderstorms forecast in some areas....hopefully it will be gentle, cumulative rain today :)

                    Yesterday planted more seeds:

                    Lettuce
                    Raddishes (blue and pink)
                    Beans
                    Sweet Basil
                    Aquilegia

And moved my 2 Brugmansia (that are being eaten to death), out the way from everything else

I've just come in from doing more weeding but it's starting to get too hot to work in the sun.

Watered and fed the greenhouse plants, fed and watered the Quail and Ferret, one other small job then took refuge out of the sun and 30c heat!

Hahahaha I haven't gotten around to taking any pics yet @Logan as I've been working on the pond area today...I bought some solar lights to replace the old ones...I made a bamboo water-spout and used the leftover to make a bamboo solar lantern...looks pretty good...pics to follow for sure. I dug in some plants, staked and tied back a few more ...and I broke the ban....I need more compost...Here follows a rose from yesterday, "Galway Bay"
