          Three reasons? Ok:
          1) Good! I was going to suggest a deeper boarder :heehee:
          2) I did wonder if you were planning something in front of them and was going to suggest #1 :snorky:
          3) Well, they seem to have appeared from last years seeds and, as they are biennial, I'm going to put my neck out and say that you have a strong chance of them flowering *this* year; but, they will need the space to do it in ;)

In summary, time to widen the border, replant those plugs, put in your new goodies in the front of them and you will have a super display later in the season. Remember, "this year" is now!!

What are you planning on planting in front of them? Will you under plant with some Spring bulbs? (Bearing in mind over the next few weeks, garden centres should start selling off their early Spring flower bulbs to get rid of them - which is a perfect time for the wily gardener to plant them "in the green" to get a good idea of how they will look next Spring).

Hi M, from reading this i wasn't convinced i would get flowers this year,
              Request Rejected

I don't want a green border all summer so my thought that's the best place for them, keeping them close up will only stunt there growth, so the way i looked at it i will forget about them plant up as i want and if they flower its a bonus,

I'm not quite sure what i am planting in front atm M , im having a run out tomorrow and see what takes my fancy i need to get something in the GH asap.

Its ok to be excited about your new lawn WO. :) I get excited with most everything I do in the garden. I am sure it will look superb
My plans for work in the garden this afternoon were thwarted by a couple of visitors but I think the weather is looking good for next few days so I'll catch up. I will be lightly cultivating veg patch again even though it is ready for sowing, scarifying the lawn and planting out hydrangea Love. No doubt I will see lots of other jobs to do whilst out there.
Spring is definitely in the air .....lovely sunny day ....and I cannot wait for serious planting :)

It's been really dry today and seems to going to be tomorrow. Also next week looks as if it will be good too. So there'll be plenty to do.
I've resolved to make a start tomorrow.

I'm going to go to play golf!

The garden can wait until the week-end or next week!
