Shush @Verdun ...hard as nails me...I've a reputation to keep up hahahahaha
no I just thought it might lighten up an otherwise dull corner...I may end up making just the one for now with interchangeable heads depending on which of us is sitting next to it hahahaha...
Help with a few apt and quirky gardening related names wouldn't go amiss though (i.e. Flora)...and please dont say HOE! :roflol:

The last of the blackcurrants picked. Huge crop but smaller than usual fruits:) tastes as good though.
I missed out the watering.....and the mulching.....up there in spring. Will remedy that next year:)
It has been so very hot. It felt hotter than previous days too. I had to come in for a refreshing lager or two. Just had to:)

Going to hit 30 here today, it’s like a winter period for me :) off to water my neighbours summer plants then to my companions to water. She’s been on another short holiday and is back today.
Should have taken up on the offer to get away for a few days but she likes her luxury which I can’t afford and there’s no way she’s paying for me.

I know Gail but this is summer and a good one
A while back you asked about my hydrangeas and I have a little gem now in flower. No more than 80 cm high and less than a metre wide from being cut back hard in spring. Tolerates more sun and drier conditions too so pretty adaptable. Pure white. Will post a picture when I get an opportunity:)

Verdun i'll look forward to that picture...my white one is flowering well in the front and I always cut mine back low in autumn and my others usually have a good show but not this year with this heat ...yet they're good in size and the leaves are healthy :)

33c today, no rain for over 2 months! Even some of the beech hedges are shedding their leaves in distress. Oh so much watering too!

I bet your lavender balls are enjoying this heat Gail. Must invest in more next year. How are you getting on with the handheld hedge/shrub trimmer?
