Just read your post and it must be heart breaking to see your beloved plants suffer as they have done :) Hopefully, as many plants are resilient, some will recover.
As you said, we here are getting away quite lightly in comparison; esp down here where it is a little cooler and where sea mists make a difference:)

How on earth people are coping with 45 degree temps in Spain and Portugal ?

@Sian in Belgium[/USER] my heart goes out to you. That's a lot of growing time totaly destroyed. We aren't nearly so hot here. Got up to almost 100f a few times but we also had the benefit of a beautiful downpour yesterday.

Back to hot sun but I made a solution for my greenhouses.

The tree shades one end of the 6x8 greenhouse so it only needed the 2 shade rolls.

Then I cleaned up the black spaghetti- some CCTV wires and hid them properly. Made some more soil blocks and got some pots ready for new seedlings.

Did a little weeding and admired my cucumbers. Should have one ready to harvest tomorrow and there is a succession of younger ones to follow :)

Picked some more tomatoes and a few Ring of Fire peppers.

Had lots of extra time on my hands today because yesterday's rain did most of thewatering for me and filled the bird bidet.

Despite my 6am waterings, I fear I've lost one or two of my clients plants (stupid place to plant a hydrangea)!

Its raining here at the moment. Very fine but its still better then nothing. I didn't manage to water the garden tonight so it couldn't have been more timely.

Planted out wallflower plants this evening and watered them in. They always make large specimens by October. With the rain due this week they should settle in well. Picked a few pounds of runner beans too.
Damp early this morning but it was a beaitiful day :)

Not much to do today/this year - but next year will be huge. Hoping to totally redesign the whole garden and create different areas/rooms for relaxation.. just need to get the borders sorted first! Next door have a lot of outhouses on the border as fences which need covering with tall fences.
