    Morning WO :)
Any nurseries round? Shop around for best prices.
Do you want impact now or can you wait and purchase plugs to pot into 9cm pots now?
Or 5 plants in 9cm pots for £10. 95 and free postage....ashbridge on ebay??
It depends on how much you want to spend and how patient/impatient you are.:)

Bit of weeding - then came across this:

      IMG_20180823_110933.jpg

These are the free Gladioli which came with an order from J Parkers - so I'm quite pleased

Thought I'd also throw in this picture of Alfie - sitting next to me last night :cat-kittyandsmiley::

@CanadianLori - that is fantastic news! Hopefully we will be able to stand each other a drink at some point, particularly if you make it back to shineyland again. In the meantime, I will raise a glass to you, but not until Saturday night, as I still have one more day of hospital stuff to go.

Today went really well - cardiologist is happy with everything that has been done so far, and the level of meds I am on; absolutely nothing wrong with the old ticker, although the wiring/control circuitry might have its own problems, but that is for the neurologist to deal with and currently the drugs have everything nice and stable.

Early start tomorrow, and a late finish after travel so please don't be offended if I am absent until Saturday.

Oh, and I ordered that bottle of whisky to be delivered with our shopping on Saturday - I figured I would either be celebrating with it, or drowning my sorrows..... time will tell.

I send you my vibes. I also have arrhythmia. Plumbing is good (118/70 pressure) but the electrical is wonky. A cardiologist was really disappointed about my audacity in showing no signs of incapacity.

Now what I did today... re-shiftrd the 500 liters of potting soil I bought. They are in 50l bags but I figure Im getting a good workout through my own stupidity

Good luck today @Fat Controller :blue thumb:

Yesterday I mowed five lawns (they're growing again, now) and may continue today. I'll trim all the edges of the cut lawns first. I also did loads of weeding, mainly bindweed and equisetum. Then spent two hours harvesting runners, green French Beans, Yellow French beans, Bridgwater beans, courgettes, marrows, blackberries, apples and plums. Then spent a bit of time talking to Sarafi the cat who seems very unhappy that his humans have put a collar on him.

Split up primula vialii (I'm too impatient to wait until spring). From two plants I now have nine:smile:
They have been looking brilliant all summer in an old builders barrow with armeria and pinks. Red and pink looking great together:rolleyespink:.
Chopping back clematis that has gone into overdrive at the front of the house. It's a white armandii and it is overshadowing a young rose so needs a good cut. Next doors wisteria is throwing out shoots over the fence so that needs attacking with the secateurs too:) Some plants are unstoppable.
Trying to decide where to put a date palm given to me by my son. It's in a large pot but really needs to go in the ground.
May tackle a large griselinia which I use for my flower arranging. I like it because it's evergreen but it grows like the clappers and is encroaching on a crabapple tree. I think it would probably survive topping because there is plenty of growth at the bottom of the trunk.

This week I have been painting my side of the new fence. My side of the fence is in the shade which gives me a bit of protection from the summer sun. As I was there something major dawned on me. :yikes:

                            20180822_143547.jpg

This photo was taken just after 2pm. I discovered that the site I had designated for my greenhouse wasn't actually in the sun. The sunniest spot is at the back where the slabs and things are. That's not where I want it. If I put it there I would have to landscape all that end and all the way up to where I am standing. The idea was to slab the area beside the shed and use the green house to restrict access to the back. I'm not sure now what to do.

This photo also tells me that the planting beds (behind where I'm standing) will not be in the sun either. I'm going to have to rethink everything.

                            :gaah:

Oh don't worry Jack Sparrow, you can always ask Chuck Norris to move the sun into a more appropriate position. :heehee:

The gh doesnt need to be in full sun.....is the site for it in the sun before 2pm? It looks like a reasonably sunny spot ....the back fence is well lit up in the picture!
