IMG_5336.JPG Hiya Mark......I pruned mine back a couple of weeks back as well as K. Coral and Gold. No need to be selective about pruning. A pair of scissors and cut through a handful of foliage and flower. I just make sure no flower buds are left, I apply a feed and they recover very quickly.
This is Coral reflowering already. Excuse the weeds

Incidentally, I also took cuttings at the same time......non flowering side shoots:)

Lovely day so I picked a load of runner beans, divided some stipa tennuissima and sanguisorba alba and picked a few more carrots (not many left!!) and dead headed again. Hopefully cut the grass again later :)

Between our morning guests and waiting for our afternoon/evening guests I've been trimming and clearing some of the edges of the lawns.

I repotted some honesty and marguerites I sowed earlier in the year, I think I’ll over winter them and plant out next year.
I collected some seed, cerinthe, sweet peas and antirrihnum. I watered, deadheaded and totally refused to acknowledge the huge brambles and nettles that are taking over part of my border

@Loki I was quite taken with the Honesty plant I saw at Shineyland. I am going to order seeds to start my own. I forgot to ask the zone they are rated as hardy suitable.

@CanadianLori They're very hardy (down to -20C), will survive in almost any soil but not too keen on acid soil - but also enjoy spreading their seed. That's not a problem because they are easy to just pull up if they're getting too rampant.

Most versions are of the range of different purples but you can also get white and variegated leafed varieties. It can flower from April through to July (some plants grow or germinate at different times)

And they're very rewarding with their seed pods and they show why some of the nicknames are to do with money (money plant, silver dollar plant etc). Photo taken in November

Yesterday I did some more edging and weeding before our guest turned up and, as usual, Mrs Shiney did twice as much as me! We filled almost two wheelie bins.

@CanadianLori 1 of a few things that will grow under this enormous Lime is Honesty so it doesn't mind serious shade!. As shiney has said it is very hardy and survives here where it can very occasionally go down to say about -15. It is extremely dry under the Lime so maybe it is a case like with many plants, as long as the ground isn't too wet in winter plants can survive the cold temperatures. With absolutely no help from me:), it does it's own thing, seed freely and is very pretty.

@silu thank you for the encouragement. :)

@BigC I too, hope your wife is okay.

I've been trying to sort out why one of the overhead fans in a little greenhouse has stopped operating. During sunny breaks I'll be tracing wires.
