    Snap logan :)
Picked up a couple of lavendars to plant in my niece's garden.....we are clearly skipping winter and looking forward to next summer:snorky:

11 dolphins were stranded on my local beach today......some were "refloated" but many died. So sad. Reasons unclear as yet

          So sad...

Well, today I got the lawnmower out for the first time since mid-June. I probably would have cut it last week, had we been here.... but on half of the garden, the grass still hasn't grown!

              Yes roll on next summer.:snorky:
Already decided to do orange wallflower seeds for next year. Instead of the yellow.

I have rows of orange, primrose, yellow, red and some whites Logan.....prob around 100..
growing now in the veg patch and they make bushy sizeable plants by the time they are moved to their final positions in October/November in groups of 3 usually. :) In spring they will be 60 to 90 cm tall. :)

That's very tall for wallflowers. But sounds good with the colours.
I thought about different colours, but i'm not very good at keeping them separate before i plant them.:snorky:

As we've been away the garden has been neglected and will take a lot of catching up. All I've done is harvesting as there are too many non-gardening things that need doing.

There are lots of bigger, heavy jobs to do suck as cutting back lilac trees (need a good 4ft off them but they're too high for me to do) and lots of other similar trees and shrubs that have as much work needed.

The wild area in the orchard needs cutting back but we need to clear the rotting windfalls (friends have been coming in to collect the edible ones whilst we've been away). Mrs Shiney will have to do that as it's a bending job and will take an hour or two. Then I shall be able to mow it all down (not been cut since February) but those sneaky Cyclamen have seeded themselves there and are in flower!

Yes, the rich veg soil helps make specimen wallflowers logan ...prob nearer 60 cm I guess :). A trio of them makes quite an impact in the early spring. Also have a few white stocks, even bigger right now, that add scent in late winter:)

Walked around the garden to see if everything is still standing.....no damage by Helene apart from the odd broken dahlia stem:)

Interesting day yesterday, had a look at a job where the customer asked to have the grass cut.
                        Guess what I said!

                        D3A2C5B4-3C3A-4F68-A0ED-19716CAFEDAA.jpeg

I’m guessing they thought I might clean it up before the cut.

Good afternoon ,this morning I have just been down to my local health centre and tidied up the 40 Roses that surround the centre ,they have done really well this year,in fact I have a "Ena Harkness climber by the main entrance, which you have to walk past to get in to the surgery, and all the patients often say how it makes them feel better when they see this beautiful Rose and the scent is so fragrant:smile:
