I've not been doing much to my garden recently. There are plenty of spring bulbs dotted around so it's pretty much a case of sit back and wait for spring. I still mow my lawn every couple of weeks (or 3 if I get side tracked). I'm not too worried about leaf collecting this year. I still have 2 builder bags full from last year. The leaves that fall in my garden I redistribute around my flower beds. The ones that fall on the footpath outside I gather up and spread over my front flower beds and pots.

When my stepdaughter was pregnant she referred to her unborn child as Flump. She is too young to remember the tv programme so I bought her a Flumps T shirt.

@Upsydaisy A BBQ sounds great. The days are turning a bit cooler now but still nice enough to entertain outside. We have an annual BBQ at the end of July. We would like to have more but we never manage to fit them in. Maybe the answer is to extend the season. Now I work Monday to Friday I have the weekends to do such things. Something to think about for next year.

This is our record year for having them @Jack Sparrow ,back in the summer we had them practically everyday.
Wouldn't it be great if we had a mild Christmas as I would love to have BBQ Turkey!! :dbgrtmb:.

Last Saturday evening we were invited to a firework party. We just happened to have the grandchildren staying over. It couldn't have worked out better if we had planned it.

And why not. Sounds good to me. Xmas jumpers all round. Snow on the ground. Go for it.

The 'we can't justify the cost of putting electricity in the greenhouse' roadshow turned to lighting today. It's fair to say a £3 battery powered light from Wilko and one of the extender clips for the insulation is the slightly cheaper option.

Next up, some DIY shelving after seeing how expensive they are to buy ready made (even with Black Friday discounts!)

Its been a nice sunny day bit chilly for a BQ though , planted up some bulbs in the greenhouse where it was nice and warm. Give the Gh a quick tidy up and swept the grapevine leaves up. Tomorrow hopefully I get the fritillaria persica in and their planting partner in tahlia daffs :), I got 5 white and 3 black F persica and I want 2 groups one of 5 and the other 3, can't make my mind up wither to have single colours of white / black or mix :noidea:

got lots of very good size wallflowers to distribute around the garden maybe a job for tomorrow, need to get up earlier but sometimes my bed just won't let me go :snooze:

Shredded all the cutting from the borders / pots etc yesterday, the woodchipper didn't like them being soggy so had to get the beast out :paladin: and mow them instead , compost bin nearly over flowing but happy.

Hi there @Perki , how are you? Sounds like you've had a busy day!

Although the temperature wasn't that high once the Sun's out our garden is quite a sun trap, definitely warm enough to sit out and enjoy the BBQ.:BBQ:

Sure did. It's got a magnet on the back, as well as the hook and uses 3 AAA batteries.

There'll be more leaves to collect tomorrow. The green bin is full, but I'll be able to compact it.
I use the same method I use to compact the grey non-recyclable waste in the bin that's collected fortnightly and is only half the size of the other three. At the end of the first week, I have to use a step stool to climb onto the top of whatever is in there and tread it down. This makes enough room for the second week's waste. Whatever made numpty councils believe that halving the volume of any bin would halve the volume of the waste?
