Is bubblewrap ok to use on the plants to protect from frost/snow etc? I ran out of the blankets that you get on the aeroplanes (he he).

Decided against trying to garden today. Just kept birds topped up with food and water. I had a look at images of wildlife ponds. There are hundreds to choose from :hate-shocked:. I wasn't thinking of copying a particular look exactly as want to work with what's already there, ie, the two mounds next to the pond area plus I already have some plants, such as grasses. This pic is vaguely what I was thinking of although you will have to image the planting of grasses and flowers on the mounds and wild flowers.

That pond idea is beautiful, @luciusmaximus! It looks like a proper haven for wildlife, which I would imagine is one of your top priorities. I feel sorry you've been having such difficulty getting your pond ideas to fruition, and hope that the fact you have seen an idea you like will help your own plan crystallise more in your mind. It might also help R too when he sees the kind of thing you are thinking of. Hope you become a bit more settled with your planning now. :ccheers:

Knocked snow off my tall shrubs - the weight of it was threatening the branches and I really do not need any snapping off under the weight! :nonofinger:

Left the snow sitting on top of my grow house because its adding an insulating layer (for now!). I'm quite sure if the predicted forecast is accurate that I shall need to remove it from there tomorrow or it will be heavy enough to pop the screen. Just glad that I don't have a greenhouse to worry about!
