Yesterday was dry, overcast and chilly - 2 fleeces and a hat. In between running around I managed around an hour, hour and a half in garden. Prepared planting area under cherry tree by removing the Verbena and adding new compost and then stuck in some Erigeron Fleabane and Pink Jewel . Added a bit of used compost to the compost heap, around cherry tree and around two Lavenders. Planted two burgundy Scabious into my raised flower planter to join the Blue and Pink Scabious - just love Scabious :wub2:. Cleaned out one of the :hhog: houses.

Today has been dry, overcast, colder and considerably windier. Had planned at least 3-4 hours but gave up after an hour or so - fed up with wind battering me and my hat kept sliding around obscuring my vision . I did prune my orange ball Buddleia, quite severely :snorky:. Then made a small log pile behind it using some of the prunings and a mix of other woods. Currently sat in conservatory with coffee and chocolate watching birdies being blown around.

Gardening when it's cold and windy is something I would prefer not to do, but it's sometimes the only way to get anything done. I have to fit the garden in around everything else. Just wish weather would improve.

Done nothing in the garden today BUT received my seed order yesterday, working again tomorrow (as today) but digging over the veg patch and sowing seed will be the priority over the weekend.

I still have half a bag of horse poo from last summer. I guess it's not so fresh anymore. Would that work?

Should be fine. Break it up and mix it thoroughly throughout the planting area :)

I've been working out in the warm sunshine (a bit nippy in the shade) and have done quite a bit of tidying up.

They look very good plant and at £15.99 each good value in my opinion, they are normally very expensive even when small. They are hardish in most of the UK but the frost has damaged mine and took out most of the flower buds as well, I got viburnum beetle as well which makes a bit of a mess of the leaves. What shape are you pruning them to?

Just planning what to do tomorrow.... I've got a 2m tall vibirnum at the back of the garden in the area were going to have building work done. Are these easy to dig up and move? Is this a good/bad time to move it? Any thoughts appreciated!

More seed sowing this morning which involved window ledge shuffling and taking over a good portion of the dining table :heehee:
This afternoon I pruned the buddleia :phew: it's a whopper these days! It self set shortly after we cleared the garden when we moved in, 20 odd years ago. We had no plants in that part of the garden at the time so this big old brute is almost part of the family :snorky:
Did a few more bits of pruning, tidying and clearing, I feel as though I'm getting somewhere :yay:

Potted up 6 echinops which I've stuck on the smaller kitchen windowsill out of the way of the cat. Just spent more money on plants from Paddock Plants thanks to @Verdun who mentioned them in another thread. Come on GC at your peril! :snorky: :Wino:
