      IMG_5912.JPG IMG_5912.JPG IMG_5914.JPG IMG_5912.JPG IMG_5914.JPG IMG_5912.JPG IMG_5914.JPG Hi All
Pictures of my pond taken a while ago,
its about four foot deep with a liner and bigger than it looks in the pictures
A lot of hard work I can tell you but worth it when sitting in the garden
in the summer and hearing the waterfall,

Thanks @Gail_68, when I work at something like that for a couple of days I tend to stick to light duties the following day, which I've done.

No you're not a 'thicko', you'd be surprised at how many people haven't heard of them or know what they look like. These are modern ones but I've had an old concrete one in the past and that attracted vermin. I won't say any more.:)

I was thinking about the area around the tanks today......

        034.JPG

......and how I can develop that without obstructing access to them. Looking at the far end, above there is the remains of an old stone wall. When that is totally clear I think I'll develop it into a rockery with alpines etc. At the back against the fence (left side of pic) I may plant some tall Erica's(heathers) or something similar.

It's amazing how plans start to form once work is under way. :)

@ARMANDII I have considered planting Mares tail (Hippurus vulgaris) as I believe it is supposed to be helpful in keeping the water clear, but my pond is much smaller and I was a bit concerned that it might take over. The Equisetums appeal as well, I like the prehistoric look of them, but am afraid they would become a nuisance. In the end I decided to stick with water cress.....it is handy to pinch a bit for a sandwich now and then  ....your thoughts :please:
DSC00005 (3).JPG This is the pond size I have..

@Sheal nice to hear first of all you did it easy today with light work ...i googled them and then asked my hubby as he new about them but i did feel stupid mentioning it but better to be honest i say :)

Yes i can see the fare end where the stone wall is still showing slightly and heathers would look nice there but i totally agree with Alpines as i think they look lovely :love30: and plants do form quickly once your getting them established...i can't wait to see pic's as your establishing it.:)
