I cleaned all the ceramic patio pots and the pot movers. The latter being plastic has meant that some have gone discoloured by the effects of the sun. The pots got a bit of fresh compost on their tops and a bit of a feed. Still it was a job out of the way.

We don't sit out on this patio in the summer as it gets far too warm. It's south facing and the York stone gets very hot. We have got the verandah of the tea-house, which is always much cooler.

As I cleared the pots off the patio to clean them I've given the patio a spray of "Wet and Forget."
Might be a bit early but I've got plenty left.

It's looking a bit naff after the winter as usual. I have in the past jet-washed it around this time of the year and it comes up really well.

But jet-washing is a pig of a job, so I'm hoping this stuff will do the trick with possibly a second application when it gets warmer. So the jury's out at the moment.

I've finished planting out all the clematis and tidied this narrow bed next to the garage. It gets a lot of sun.

Plenty of indoor work to keep me occupied today....besides it has been pretty wet. Nice sunshine right now though :)
Potted on rapidly growing echevarias, argyranthemums and rooted cuttings of heliotrope Chatsworth and White Lady:).
Lots and lots of perennials growing now :)

@Doghouse Riley Do you replenish the compost supply completely or just top dress as a mulch for pots with fish, blood & bone etc?

Spent the day with grandma and chopped back all the ivy, tidied it all away and swept the paths and scraped some of the moss so it wasnt slippery. Where i'd sprayed the wet and forget previously it has kept the algae away and so not slippery so safer for her in the garden.

Good old grandma did us a roast lamb dinner and then we went up to the cemetery to put flowers on her parents grave and i finished off my great grandads grave. Put weed supressant down, stones and a new plaque. The edging was too flimsy and i couldnt get it into the clay ground but was ok without. I'll try find something better.

I just scrape off the top few inches adding some fresh compost mixed with a bit of fresh topsoil, the stuff I made up for the new clematis I planted, (don't want to disturb the roots) and add a bit of liquid feed. I also pruned off the few dead leaves that thew frost got a couple of weeks back.

I'll probably give them a spray of Roseclear tomorrow, I'll also give our Sambuca leaves a spray of a suitable insecticide, it's the first thing blackfly go for, as soon as they get a chance. I'll do the same for the acers once their leaf buds have opened, they're another target for blackfly.
