      Are these " full spectrum " led's ?

Climbed the copper coloured hard pruned sycamore and tidied it up. Pruned the contorta, and im now sifting through the seeds having just seen Perki's lights :)

Not really sure ,sold as grow lights. I've got a manual with a spectrum graph but don't know if they are full spectrum. The led are red and blue

Isn't it a little early for cobaea? Once they get going they can grow quite rapidly with extra heat and light provided. They might get out of hand before you're able to plant them out. :noidea: :) Although I like the idea of early cobaea. :blue thumb:

Thank the lord for my big greenhouse as it is pretty cold here atm. By having a greenhouse to work in I am able to get started preparing for my spring charity plant sale. I am just off out to pot on about 40 Lupin seedlings plus pot up a whole load of Vinca Minor and variegated variety which I yanked up(hope you like the technical term:)) a few days ago. I also lifted a few days ago huge clumps of a nice Flag Iris which needs potting up. That should keep me busy for the next couple of days. I have about 200 pots of things done already and am aiming for around 400. By potting things up it means when I have the sale there is the option of people buying stuff in pots if the weather is dreadful. Most of what I sell is dug straight out of the beds but this is not pleasant, from past experience:rolleyespink:, for me or the buyers if it's lashing down.

It is quite early but on a few packets I've seen it say January to March indoor sowing, I normally sow in February but last year I only got 2-3 week of flowers before they started sulking about the weather, that why I am trying them earlier this year.

No scarifying here till March, even if the lawn doesn't look mossy etc its still beneficial you'll be surprised how much still comes out especially thatch.

Masses and masses of thatch removed today from the lawn. It is still relatively mild here and soil is dry so ideal time for it. Yep, my lovely lawn is now a mess. Have to break up before rebuilding so worth it
I will scarfy again in late early March, overseed and top dress.:)
I feel I had a good workout too

BRRRR!!!!! Blimmin freezing today! My lovely neighbour and I (who both like gardening) went for a trip to a local nursery to have a look at what hedging etc they had (a family run place - not a big chain). Also went over to "Majestic Trees" just off the M1. WOW! It was fantastic (even though a lot was bare). Very posh but fantastic specimens. Saw a lovely shaped Box tree with 50% off....tempted to go back...need to persuade mr snorky first.

Got back around 2.30 and only just warmed back up again!

@Snorky85. I used to spend a lot of time (and money) at World;s End, Wendover. Also Askett Nurseries and Buckingham Garden Centre but bet they have all changed since my departure in 2001! Whilst on the IoW I frequented Ventnor Botanical Gardens and have a fantastic Myrtus communis 'Tarentin' bought there around 2004.

I've been saving quite a bit of money at Worlds End (and numerous other Wyevales) recently doing multiple shops like this this one using their £5 printable vouchers, and on this shop actually being paid £1 to take those socks (reduced from £10 to £4) away. We have a big stack of their stuff 'bought' for nothing.

Askett Nurseries has been partially re-developed for housing. I remember the owner, Simon Cheetham, playing in small time bands in the local area.

Buckingham Garden Centre has increased in size, but I try and avoid using it as they sold 10% off cards to customers, then cancelled the scheme without refunding.

@Scrungee, thank you for the update. I didn't know you live in that part of the world. I was in Whitchurch for 5 years on White Horse Lane and then Upton for 18 years. Snorky is in Mentmore.
