Bought my garden vac some 3 or 4 years ago from Lidl.....can’t remember the price but it was a cheapo with a 3 year warranty and it works well :)
Lidl usually have these on offer around the autumn time I think :)

Going cordless! I have a medium size lawn and a smaller one and I use a cordless Bosch lawn mower. Reliable, quiet and even gives me those “precious” stripes :) It is such a good mower that I bought a replacement one here for me and gave the old one to my niece....despite being 5 or 6 years old it is still an excellent mower :)

It would not go back to petrol or electric mowers

Just had a call from a neighbour to say she has grown on a few stocks for me. She is an expert with seed sowing and all I have to do is plant them, temporarily, in the veg garden. Prob the best biennials for scent over winter and early spring. Better still, they will cost me nowt !

Keeping on top of the deadheading and managed to escape injury today. I look a bit battle scarred but that's one of the joys of summer gardening:biggrin:. Still some plants to go in but I'll wait until the autumn.
I was pleased to see one of the auriculas is having a late flowering:wow: and that the crinums are flowering at last. I was beginning to think I'd done the wrong thing by digging them up, splitting and putting them in pots. Some of the bulbs were a bit damaged but they seem to have recovered from the trauma.
Our neighbours are having a new patio put down and it's quite noisy outside but I'll get my own back when we hire a digger for the new dry bed. Plenty of prep work to do before that beast comes in.
A large conifer near our conservatory is being felled at the end of the month so we'll have more light on our patio. I have no attachment to it - i think it's a juniper but not sure. I don't know much about conifers.

crinums doing well here too Alana......I find they are better for digging, dividing and replanting every 3 years or so. Resilient things :) I want to make a big spread of them:)

Rain is threatening so I made up for lost time when I got home....cut lawns, planted out stocks given to me, swapped 2 dahlias (not ideal timing I guess but I’ll get away with it:)) and watered containers

Managed to get the church gardens looking a little tidier. The geraniums hadn’t been pruned, and the huge patio rose bushes needed serious deadheading. A 40l trug, pressed down, full of rose trimmings, and two 40l sacks of geraniums and daylily stems later - Looking much better now!

Back for lunch, then three 40l trugs of lychnis stems, chopped from my garden. The turned compost bays are filling up!

              Time for Tea!!

I spent an hour tackling nature with my electric strimmer this afternoon and finished just before a thunderstorm took hold. Having been forced out of the garden and into my kitchen (not my favourite place) I made a large meat pie - the birds got the remnants of the pastry. :)

Slow cooked stewing steak with onions and garlic in shortcrust pastry. Simple and easy @Verdun . :)

Really windy here and a bit drizzly now and again. Watered and hoed the front garden this morning. Now I'm just sat inside doing loads of washing, watching tv, drinking tea and reading my new nick bailey 365 days of colour in the garden book. A great book - giving me lots of ideas for the next house/garden.

I've picked up the following from the local nursery
Monarda Prairie Night 6" high Fragrant leaves
Monarda Marshalls Delight 12" high Fragrant leaves
Monarda Jacob Cline 18" high with two opening flowers, barely fragrant leaves
                              Aster Audrey 6" high
They were packed when I picked them up, they look very healthy and getting home I see some brown marks on the stems and leaves on the Marshalls, could this be a problem?
                              £5.50 each.

I've ordered Fur Elise tulips for my spring pots. They are a dwarf tulip that flower in March.
Usual jobs around the garden. Getting windy now so time for a cuppa:) and a few minutes with the Garden News.
