Got out my ladder and trimmed off the tree limbs hanging all over because the dead tree, which was recently removed, had been using them for support. Still couldn't reach the untidy ones so got out a walking cane and used it to grab the ends of the limbs to bring the tips within reach and from there I just kept pulling on them until I got to the spot where I wanted to cut. Filled another paper sack ..As an fyi these sacks are about 15x25 x 40" tall. And I do stuff them :)

That's 4 bags I've filled with badly behaving or brutalized vegetation. Tomorrow is the pick up day so I wanted to have it all done.

And that was before my third cuppa as I had some errands to run and decided to get them done early and not be slothing on my backside. I saw my favourite potting soil marked down and didn't buy any because my back muscles are still sore. Hmmm, maybe tomorrow I'll take an ibuprofen and go back tomorrow and grab a bunch of bags....:noidea:

I didn't get much done in the garden but managed to do some harvesting. As the wind was picking up I decided that I needed to pick plums before the wind took them away. I picked over 20 lbs but the wind got more!!!

I have potting up and labelling to do, as I'm providing plants for a plant sale next Friday.

A cursory and trepidatious look around the garden earlier following the rain and wind last night. Surprisingly, all seems well with no obvious damage to plants. Still very windy though :)

Good luck with your plant sale Nigel :)

Supposed to be a sunny afternoon....bright now actually....so may get chance to pick some produce :)

Thankfully all looks OK in our garden too, looking a tad battered but then my reflection in the mirror revealed I did too after my garden wanderings !!

Sunny but still with strong winds at the moment.

We haven’t had much rain yet, but I was woken at 3am by a loud crash. Fortunately, it was quickly followed by a drunken “I love you - I love you - I love you” from the street (bear in mind that I do not hear English spoken in the street from one month to the next). Guess what? The young people’s party from the house opposite had spread into the street again. The police came at 3.30...again....
What’s this got to do with “what jobs are we doing in the garden”? Well, at this point, I didn’t know that there was no damage...
So I got up, not waking the snoring dog, went downstairs, got a torch, and patrolled the garden in my dressing gown, checking all the vulnerable areas/plants. All was well.
Was tucking myself back into bed (dog still snoring!) when the police arrived to do their “now then! Now then!”...
Braver than me, those youngsters opposite. Local police, called away from their station in the small hours? They fiddle with their gun holsters whilst talking to you on a “friendly visit” during the daytime!

                    Feeling down.
Had at least two of my snoopy pots smashed in the wind.

Just done another patrol of the garden, this time fully dressed!
So far most things are holding up, although the worst of the winds are yet to come. We are getting dry continental air, rather than rain-laden Atlantic air, so our near-drought continues, with warm drying winds.
Still - looking in the bright side, that means that the washing I just pegged out (with lots of pegs!) will be dry in no time :).

Oh no! So sorry to hear that...
Dare I ask - are the plants salvageable?

Going into the garden shortly. Believe it or not, it is beautifully sunny. Warm but breezy. Weather changes so swiftly down here ! I will be mowing the lawns too ....now, is that tempting fate??:noidea::hapfeet:

                          That’s a shame Pushkin:)

My B&Q have a reduced section with lots of goodies in.

I haven't checked. It's pouring down with rain and blowing a gale here in Bristol.

The weather is very odd. Pouring with rain and blowing a gale and then it stops and the sun comes out. Then it cycles all over again.
