Decided to spend a couple of hours weeding my own garden - as opposed to the allotment.

Got myself all psyched up - climbed into my gardening clobber - stood there looking at the vast expanse of small weeds that would need taking out.

After 30 seconds - bottle went - sprayed the weeds with some Rosate 360 - went back inside for a nice cuppa.

Not sure whether this counts as gardening really.

This morning planted some of the wallflowers and tulips where the cosmos was but in the afternoon started drizzling so couldn't finish it.

I was busy all day yesterday so didn't do any gardening, which I'm not sorry for as it was very damp out.

At 4.30 this morning I was out sweeping the leaves off the patio - with the outside lights on. I did it then because the forecast says dry but windy.

Planted the rest of the wallflowers and left some just in case i have to replace any.
It's raining now so can't do much else.

              Hi,

Bron and I bought three bunches of wall flowers yesterday morning costing £1.50 per bunch and after standing their roots in water for an hour planted them into our front garden; 9 plants per bunch so good value. I had pulled the Marigolds out in readiness; the garden is putting on a nice show after all the hard graft and many hours put in.

              Kind regards, Colin.

Three of the wall flowers; decent value at 27 plants this size for £4.50. Soak roots in water before planting; I did this because I like a joke.

What a difference after a great deal of hard work.

Bron and I planted lots of conifers when we moved in 32 years ago so they were very well established.

I've turned the compost heaps, pressured hosed 500sq ft of patio and built and fitted a cover for the 5' x 3' propagator.

The building work was supervised by our Health and Safety officer Sarafi the cat!

He emptied out the container of screws to check they all complied with his rigorous standards, so he pawed through them to check the sizes. He then checked that I was using the correct saw - pushing it around whilst I was trying to cut the timber. This was followed by a close inspection of the battery powered drill/screwdriver.

Whilst I was screwing in the screws he decided he needed a closer look and promptly jumped onto my shoulder (climbed up my back to get there). I finished the work whilst under supervision all the time. I installed the framework and then added the plastic in situ. Once that was done he pushed his way into the heated propagator, curled up and went to sleep. After all, he'd had a tough day. :)
