Done a bit today in the garden not ideal though it lashed it down last night so it were quite sodden.

I am a bit sad though , I've cut my grapevine down and dug it up  they wasn't much point in keeping it because I didn't eat the grapes, I couldn't cope with all the seeds in them. Dug out the soil and replaced it from soil from around the garden , going to replant with a seedless variety over the winter.

Moved some plants around veroncias to the front garden they were to tall where they were. Sanguisorba planted in the back garden to be planted with a miscanthus memory when I get it.

Also got some bulbs planted :hapfeet: finished planting the crocus , planted out Allium Pinball Wizard - Beau regard - mount everest - summer drummer but I did chop 2 other alliums up  oh and some tulips :doh::gaah:

Upsy, you sound just like my youngest (50+) daughter. She attends to me so much despite she is disabled and on crutches all the time. Thankfull I still care for myself, I keep the flat upto scratch but my washing machine recently packed up, so Amanda now takes care of my washing. I do my 'smalls' & socks. I have not ever met you or your dad but I bet he loves you loads and really appreciates all that you do for him. Bless you lass, but please don't overdo it.

I spent some time today, printing labels for some bulbs that arrived yesterday from Parkers. I've decided to have a go with Irises.

Thanks for your kind words @Mike Allen . I try to do all I can for my Dad, he's now 94 and despite still living in the family house he has become quite frail and can't really do much for himself. I do have 3 other siblings and they also do as much as they can too. One sister has recently had two lots of surgery and is still in recovery mode, my brother is disabled but can drive so he can keep Dad company.and my younger sister isn't local but she does come often and helps out too.....so all in all we are a good team.:dbgrtmb:
On a weekly basis I am the one who goes over more , but that's the way it is and I don't mind....he can get cantankerous at times but I think it through frustration at not being able to do things for himself anymore.

But he's precious and I love him.:)

Aw thank you, that's very sweet of you. My only wish is that I could split myself into two . Hubs is in his 70's now and retired a couple of years ago and I wish we had more time to do things together, equally I wish I could have more time with Dad too. But hey that's life.:)

Hi @Perki , we have the same problem. We've got two big vines and they grow really well...but....they have seeds!! We do try to eat some but have to admit it's not a very enjoyable experience!!! We keep saying that we are going to dig them up ..saying it is easy but doing the deed is very difficult.

So I feel for you in your time of sadness.:spinning:

Morning everyone! Been up at mum's in Lincoln for the week to have a break from the nutcase neighbours (they've reached a whole new level of evil which I didn't think was possible). Not been on here for a bit so nice to catch up on what everyone is doing. Always at this time of year I get itchy to propogate and start growing new plants (far too early I know).

Whilst I was away my poor older dog, Dotty, had a terrible eye infection where her eye was bulging out of the socket! More drama (thank goodness for pet insurance). She is ok now but will have to go to the vets today to see if she needs dental work (she's 10/11yrs old and i'm dreading the anaesthetic).

Anyway - back home now and I've already been outside (in my dressing gown) and put the insulation up in my greenhouse - the little heater is working overtime! I've also made more suet and peanut butter bird feed for the coconut halves I've got hanging. The cuttings in the cold frame are surviving. Later I will venture up to the allotment and check all my divisions in pots are doing ok.

Very windy here today but looks like blue skies for the morning at least. Have a good day everyone. x

Good to see you @Snorky85 , I was thinking about you the other day and wondering where you had gone.
Poor Dotty not nice at all but glad to hear that she's doing well now.:dbgrtmb:

Not nice when you have horrid neighbours either, thankfully I have never had to experience that.

I too have the ' itch'....I've even looked through all my pkts of seeds and was prepared to sow anything, whether I liked them or not!!! :roflol:

After these winds I am planning on yet another mighty leaf collection today.

                        Enjoy your day too!:spinning:

Yesterday I picked up all the leaves about four hours after I said my back wasn't up to it . no ill effects - sort of! :blue thumb:

Today I did another couple of hours of pressure washing and then cleaned all the windows on the summerhouse. Feet up time now. :)

Went over to the greenhouse and taped up the last bits of greenhouse insulation. It's now pouring down outside and really windy. I feel rotten so spending the day in my PJs and on the sofa. Doing clothes washing so not being completely lazy.

I've got all my allium bulbs to plant still - really hope I get chance to get them in the ground soon.
