Just a little walk about, watering some very dry overwintering pots in my makeshift shelter. Apparently I will have around 50 large foxgloves to squeeze in somewhere

The Doorstep Delight is now flowering very nicely and full of buds. For some unknown reason also the Vinca Minor is flowering now, possibly it's just competitive and doesn't want the Hellebore to steal the show:

@Sian in Belgium I have 3 bays of compost to move and have put it off for as long as I can. I know how back breaking that can be. I cant move it yet as the ground would be churned up (that's my excuse anyway !)

Managed to get to within 8 feet of the end of the top hedge before the light faded. Tomorrow will be the fun bit - starting on the hedge at the side of the farmers field. He usually cuts the top with his tractor attachment but wet weather means that his sugar beet crop is still in the ground and he cant get to cut the hedge.

Skip was almost full but a few minutes trampling it down has reduced it to 1/4 full

Not much time for gardening today, busy making beach inspired coasters. Managed around an hour in the afternoon. More weeding around pond area and removing canes that were supporting last year's Poppies. Netted pond and had a good peer into it's depths - no idea why as not around this time of year except snails. I'm finding large snail shells around the pond, possibly the Blackbirds or the Thrush have been fishing.

That's great, have you sown them before? In the past I've sown delphiniums and they were easy.i have to wait until the end of the month to sow anything. The conservatory has a flat roof so don't get enough light to sow my seeds.

I'd received my order of Sarracena Flava "Ornata", Sarrcena "Maxima cv James Wong", and Sundew Drosera "Admirabilis", Drosera "Cuneifolia", and two Drosera "Alicia" so I decided to pot them on into bigger pots using Sphagnum Moss and Perlite. and that kept me busy for the afternoon.

I'd also bought a Brugmansia "Anja"

So I potted that on into a bigger pot. The Carnivore Plants went into the Green House, while the Brugmansia is sitting happily on the Kitchen Table.

No gardening due to strong winds and rain showers, quite cold too. Delivery of resin yesterday so busy making agate coasters instead. Popped into hardware store in the afternoon and bought bag of blended manure/compost, a pot of pink Aubretia and a pot of narcissus daffs.

I had a look at the patio yesterday too. It's covered in green slime again. I jet washed it last year and it looked good all summer. Think I need to invest in some wet and forget. Also contemplated my raised container on the patio. Going to change the plants in it this year. I have had Scabious in it for several years and a Clematis. Last year the Scabious didn't do at all well. They had mildew and despite my best efforts to nurse them they didn't recover very well . Not sure what I'm going to put into the container bed yet - something wildlife friendly, low maintenance and liking dry conditions!

My Scabious were awful last year @luciusmaximus , they too were mildew ridden and failed to thrive. I don't think I'll bother with them this year....so disheartening.
