Slowly, slowly, she is improving, praise the Lord!!

Her back legs are still splaying out sometimes, but she has the strength to regain control. All we have to do now is so get her eating normally again....

Sorry, I've no idea, it was given us by a friend who no longer wanted it years ago. They didn't know the name either.

Had a big sort out in the greenhouse and the big cold frame that hubs built a couple of years ago.
Have now moved some established seedlings into the greenhouse , not sure it if was a wise move but I needed to free up some space. We still have it bubble wrapped and the seedlings have covers put on them at night ....then a layer of fleecing! Fingers crossed.:fingers crossed:
Sowed some more seeds to fill the space left by the ' movers'.
All in all a good day, gorgeous weather too can't remember when we last ate lunch/ dinner indoors!!:BBQ:

Not sure if its any help but my dogs have always got dodgy tums (had them tested and they are allergic to loads of food-even rice, potatoes, white fish etc). We give them a daily pro-biotic. Or pro-kolin paste for a few days and their appetite is back to normal again

Hey guys! We’ve had lots of drying winds up in Scotland these last few days. I mulched the beds but they look bone dry! Would it be mad to water them at this time of year?

Could I apply a feed to my budding plants and perennials that are starting to grow or would it be a minefield of plants that would like it or not.

It was lovely and sunny so when I got back from a client's I wandered around my little back yard and in one of the raised beds, was the lone new growth of this year. Popping up and appearing robust was a healthy dandelion. My first official weeding of the year

                          Kriss :)

Yes feed perennials now with a balanced fertiliser and scratch it into the surface of the soil. I like to add some mulch over added fertiliser.

Re mulching.....ideally we mulch over damp or wet soil to help retain moisture. However, mulching is always good at any time of year. Ground is dry here too but I won’t be watering just yet because a wet soil is a cold one so plants may not enjoy added moisture just now. Nights are still cold and the soil not quite warm enough. Leave the watering for now Kriss I think :)

@Perki do Dove Cottage still charge an entry fee to their garden (not the garden centre)? Although they have a good garden I think it feels wrong to charge for their showcase for plants. :noidea:

Larch Cottage (Melkinthorpe, Penrith) don't charge for their garden and sell some good plants but are more expensive, I think. Interesting place to visit if you're up that way.

Eek... the roots of my liatris and gladiolus bulbs roots are beginning to come through the bottom of the pots!

Should I start to harden off for 5-7 days then get them planted out or will they be fine for another 2 or 3 weeks in those pots indoors?
