In for a cider......very warm now
Planted out persicarias, perennial heliotropes, sedges, grasses.....all divisions from last summer.......staked more heleniums and mulched a new border.
Now that night time temps are consistently around 8 to 10 degrees everything is growing fast:)

Mowed the lawn, stripped the dying blooms off another wisteria and had a tidy up.

Chased the pigeons out of the acer again, they'd started on nest number two.

I used the end of my long handled brush I used to use for sweeping stubborn debris on the bottom of my koi pool towards the bottom drain, to poke the twigs away they'd been using.
I then turned the brush around and left the head in the same place.
At the moment they've not been back. I'll take the brush away tonight and check again tomorrow.

I can't work out whether they are just persistent, or just thick..... It's probably the latter.

I've been trying to think of a way to move my electric sockets from below to above the benches in the greenhouse while they aren't being used much, so I've bent aluminium angle and bolted it into the channels with cropped head greenhouse bolts a couple of small bolts to bolt the sockets on and that should work.

Continuing rain has kept me out of the garden, I swear I can see the grass growing, it's growing so quickly at the moment. :) I've had a couple of hours in discussion via Skype video with my son in America. First a Teamviewer set up for him to sort out some computer issues for me. Then a discussion about his ongoing flooding garden. Major 'surgery' will be needed to sort that out unfortunately.

Enjoyed a very busy day in the gardens. First was some planting out on my newly acquired bit of extra border ...still lots more to do tomorrow.
This afternoon I planted up some summer plants in 4 borders over at my Dad's, so far I taken over 3 boxes of plants for him that I had grown from seed. Most plants that I had in his two greenhouses have also be planted out too.....slowly but surely we're getting his garden in shape for a colourful summer!!:blue thumb:

Had a very busy few days. Have done some major pruning. Pruned back the forsythia and my goodness - there is hardly anything left. Hopefully it will grow back. I also have pruned back the clematis Armandii...crikey it was so unbelievably overgrown and was weighing down the fence. I've left a few strands but not much....hopefully that will grow back too. I took three builders sacks over the the tip over the weekend. Also replanted 24 lady's mantle plants that I had dug out of the new revamped border. And tidied up the "outside" border and relaid two bags of bark clippings to tidy it up.

We've had virtually no rain here and the well is already dry (the nasty neighbour who is illegally running a plant nursery on our site drained the well to fill up their water containers). Hoping for it to rain soon but we seem to have an unusual microclimate here and the neighbouring town gets rain but we don't seem to get it.

Tomorrow I'll be tidying up and planting a few more pots up. Still loads to plant out but taking my time.

Busy day in the garden again. Planted out primula Bulleysia and potted up more plants. Made some summer pots up and feed / watered plants. Weeded the lawn for the umpteenth for weed grass .

Your forsythia should be fine @Snorky85 tough plants.

What have you planted in your new border @Upsydaisy ?
