    Got my weeding done. :)

Everything outside got free water yesterday so I only had to water the troughs from rain colected in the barrels.

I made one a couple of years ago. I was dubious about courgette and chocolate together but you are right it was delicious . Cake didn't last long :rolleyespink:

@Logan glad your eye is better.

Not much in way of gardening yesterday. More of a day standing and looking at stuff and contemplating. Window cleaner came and commented on the front garden. I've had three compliments about it :). Horse rider even stopped to ask me if she could have some Poppy seeds later on.

          :rain: this morning.

Yesterday I took some spare tomato plants round to a friend, along with a cayenne chilli plant. And was given 8 raspberry canes, that had to come out, in return.

So, went home and planted the raspberry canes, watering them into the new bed. I took the sides of the trough cloche off, so it is now fully exposed to the elements. Hopefully that will allow better bird access for slug patrols - so that my second replanting of cherry tomatoes can survive! Weeds from the weekend were taken down to the compost, and then I cut the grass (about 2/3 of the grass area), so that was a good coarse/fine layer in the compost bay. Weeded around the new fruit trees - the heavy mulching makes the job much easier.

Then sat by the pond with a cuppa. I found two more large dragonfly larvae casings. I guess we had a visit from a female emperor dragonfly last year!!

Almost "swam" down to the chickens to feed them (they are ok, their run is raised up), other than that, watered my toms and cucs in the greenhouse, that's it for today!

There's a short break in the rain so I am going to grab the opportunity to go out and do a little playing with the solar water pump to get it to feed the capillary system in the greenhouse. The cold is making my dominant hand stiff so it's going to be a challenge... no wait, it's not the cold doing that, I fell heavily on it whilst rollerblading yesterday. Decided to give that a try. Oh well, at least the little bruise on my hand colour matches the big one on my bum!

Didn't do much today as it's far too wet. Time on my hands as it should have been a golf day, as was Wednesday. It's not been dry enough (for me) since I played on Monday.

So... I went round and emptied of water all the trays and pot movers under our plants.

Then I made this out of some speedfit plumbing pipe, some canes, garden wire and insulation tape. The net is a bit from the one I kept that I used to cover the koi pool to keep the falling leaves off it in the Autumn. It's easy to take off when necessary.

We needed to protect the blueberries on my wife's new plant before the birds got at them.
That's it for today, did some shopping, now gonna watch some tennis and womens' football on the TV.
