      I did some more digging/weeding.

The ground started like this - plus loads of grass

and ended like this. I did three sections this size.
      P1410560.JPG

Then had a traditional pampas grass burn up. It took all of three minutes from start to finish as it always goes up like a rocket. All the old leaves, and the weeds, burnt out. It doesn't harm the plant.

I will get a couple of containers today......every year I determine to have less pots, much preferring to grow in the garden, but I end up with more of them:noidea:

Shiney, your work ethic is impressive:)

Busy few days just gone. Cleared all the rocks and bricks id dug out the border when planting the new hedging. Vine weevil killered the pots around the house and planted a few plants in the new raised beds area.

Then been up to my mums in Lincoln to bring the dogs for her to look after and have cut the grass, weeded, mown around the perimeter of the garden and weedkillered it as the nettles and weeds etc were growing through our fence.

After a bit of a row with the farmer last year we came to an agreement that i could mow and weedkiller that bit (he never maintains the entrance to the back field that he uses-very annoying). Luckily all the stones and edging etc we did last year is doing the trick-theyre just getting in the only section we haven’t stoned.

Travelling back home today to then jet off and meet mr snorks in San Francisco whilst he is working out there. Can’t wait to get there :)

Neighbours have been given instructions on how to look after my seedlings whilst I’m away. Confident all will be ok as she is a farmer ha ha.

I finished the repair to bottom of the tea-house skirt yesterday afternoon. I gave the whole of this side of the building another coat of Dulux mahogany Weatherstain, (it used to be called Woodsheen, before the price went up to over £50 for a 2.5ltr can). This is the "weatherside" and it was looking a bit dull. On the next dry day I'll wash down the rest and give it a bit of a polsh.

            P1020352.JPG

It's not really a stain as that implies that it soaks in, it will a bit, but it's goes much further on smooth finishes as it's a polymer that sits on the top.

On rough surfaces like our featherboard security side fence and door between the corner of the house and the corner of the garage, it didn't go very far.

Potted on Amistad cuttings and agastaches, top dressed couple more hostas in pots, watered gh plants. Resisted the urge to pot on Tithonia seedlings...just a few more days for this I think:) cosmos germinating as is hordeum J. seed:)

Very little sunshine today but it is still pretty warm....13 degrees or so and won’t be much lower overnight so things growing apace:)

I've spent today cleaning windows. The lack of sun made it an ideal day to be doing it.

It must have been about 20 years ago when I went to San Francisco. The friends I went to visit worked during the day which left me free to wander at my own pace. I loved it. The 11 hour flight was hard though. Neither my wife nor I are good travellers so I don't think I will be going back anytime soon.
