Absolutely, Jasmine, as it's such a great plant. Mine is in a large pot and seems to thrive on being left alone. It certainly tells you Spring is here!!

Hi @KFF thanks, it was in the ground in the border. But I had been watering it a little more recently with the weather being so hot here. Oh dear! :wallbanging: maybe if I put it in a pot and leave it for a while? Would you trim the dead branches off? Bluming heck. Annoyed with myself now. I have a Azalea in a pot. It's not looked great all year really but flowered beautifully (the best ever) recently. It's tough to gage if you're doing the right thing when the weather is so up the wall.

@ARMANDII that is a beauty :wub2: where do you have it in the garden? And do you water at all? I'm going to get another anyway. You've convinced me now. Thank you.

The last few months have all been focused on the back garden. With limited time before the rain was due, I decided to get the front lawn top-dressed. Reseeded the bare patches, applied some fertiliser, then used some of the mound of topsoil dug out from my other projects to fill in the lumps and bumps. Unfortunately the rain started before I'd finished, so I got a bit wet! Never mind, it's settled things in a bit.

The rain did put paid to my plans to get some weeding done in the front though. A job for next time.

What a cracking day yesterday was but today :hate-shocked: flipping freezing , plus the strong gust went right through me.

Just mowed the lawns and watered the pots , a few pots are over now but some are just getting into their peak. Been in the GH this evening with the fleece and brought the 2 Brugmansia maya ( which already got buds on :) ) and the ensete into the house .

My beard iris have got flower buds on as well :hapydancsmil:maybe I am not such a rubbish gardener after all just impatient :heehee:

Hi Jasmine, it actually travels around the garden sometimes on the South facing of the Observatory, sometimes on the Patio and sometimes placed in the borders, at the moment it's at the far end of the Patio beside the Green House. I do water it but only occasionally and every now and then it gets a feed but, all in all, it's usually left to do it's stuff on it's own.:dunno::cat-kittyandsmiley::coffee:

Unless the rain helps me out, watering is all today. A chilly "lazy wind" combined with high pollen count blinds me!

Omitted to post the above.. getting too old.. I DID manage a satisfying amount of jungle clearing; ie pulling up nettles that infest a neglected part and heaping them into a large container where " nettle tea" is stewing to feed my plants. Then watered. My eyes helped with that.. dratted hay fever this year. But deeply satisfying when they come up so neatly... Pity about the brambles... lol.

Such a shame as it is a dramatically sunny/windy day with the ocean and sky vying for azure. Ah well; I enjoyed what I did. Really loved it!

Picked my three dandelion flowers to eat; someone online swears by them and you never kmow, and it keeps them under control..

Have a lovely evening everyone; done for the day here now .

My one rose bush is in flower; a pretty yellow, whose name ??? It cost a euro in Dealz and is in a large pot. And the first hot pink on the rosa rugosa.. Everything else is pretty much in a holding pattern just now.

@ARMANDII I'll have to get mine a pot with a set of wheels ;) hopefully I'll have better luck with the next one.

I use an old collapsible "Porters" Trolley, Jasmine, to wheel any large pots around. My Patio often gets busy with pots of this or that and sometimes I find it easier to move a shrub in a pot out of the way to give space or just to see how it looks in a different place. I always look forward to seeing Kojo no mai bursting into flower in Spring. I don't use just General Purpose compost for the Kojo but use a mixture of sand, grit and compost to give good drainage yet not drying out as pure compost does and then is a Beggar to water.:gaah:

I bought a baby buggy from a charity shop for E2 to help with my shopping so that helps. My mobility needs a stick so the buggy helps carry my shopping and acts as a walking aid and is multi purpose.

Yesterday evening it was a case of quickly protecting the beans that have already been planted out.

french beans got a cloche put over them, the runner beans wrapped in horticultural fleece.
                            A quick question:
We are forecast another two nights of potential frost. Today’s temps are due to rise to around 15c. Would you take the fleece of the runners, or leave it on for the next two days?
