Planted out lots of seedlings. Still have more to go but it will be raining for the next two days so that will have to wait and I was waffling abojt placement of them anyway. Put down grass seed in bare patches and topsoil to help things move along.

I planted my bean seeds. 1/2 were soaked overnight and the rest, not. Presoaked on the west side of the circle. So a good learning experience for me as my climate is very different to the UK.

Got dirt in my shoes. And when I came in and removed them, the soil stuck to my socks for various moments to make a mess all over my freshly vacuumed floor:doh: But, easy peasy, just swept the mess to the floor central vac dustpan. :blue thumb:

All in all a good day :)

I would be interested to know if you find any difference in germination.
With mine I found that broadbeans and borlotti seemed to enjoy the soaking a lot, mangetout and runner beans less so. Also I had some mold problem, when I checked on those which failed to germinate.

But then, like you say, your weather is very different.

Potted up some cabbage, spinach and sweet corn. Gave GH a good soak and put the hose on the front garden. Sowed some Tithonus and Calendula. Did a bit of weeding and erected a swing for my daughter’s Birthday.

Sooo excited, I ordered 3 blueberry bushes and an apricot tree back on the 04th april, delivery said will be 15 days because of the covid 19 lockdown ....I have been waiting and waiting contacted them via email twice ....no response... then googled the company and it had shocking reviews people were contacting them for refunds and plants were turning up dead so I didnt hold out much hope, they despatched them thursday and we have just recieved them this morning box all damaged, so I was a bit down hearted, but as I say did expect to be binning them anyway, I said to hubby anything alive will be a bonus so anything better will exceed our expectations seeing as we hadn't seen one positive review on the company. ....I opened them each pot was wrapped in a carrier bag to contain the moisture and compost, and all plants are alive, the little ones are a bit squished and all are smaller than we expected but all In all I'm chuffed to bits and will give the company an email to say so. So today I have to go tend to my mother in laws tube and stoma site and feed her then I can plant them out before I go to blood donors, so all in all a good day.

A busy start moving pots of hostas into the borders. I sprayed them with garlic spray and will keep my fingers crossed that the slugs won't get all the leaves. I planted four in the ground so I'll keep a check on whether they fare better or worse.

              Hi @Telmadee ,

This last couple of months I've spent about £1500 on internet sales and when I've had all my deliveries I'm gonna start a thread with how I rate them.
I'm interested to know which one you're talking about as it rings s few bells in my head. I reckon it could start with a Y.

Garlic spray? I didn't know that slugs didn't like garlic! I read about dogs not liking to do their business where garlic has been sprayed but this is new. Thanks for the heads up :dbgrtmb:

Pulled up some more wallflowers that have finished and put them in the compost bins, later watering the polyanthus but it's getting really dry.

The pergola pretty much finished just need to cut a few more corner braces, made some new trellis out of some old trellis it's painted up and I'll put it on the back of the pergola as soon as my wife has painted the fence. Cut some chunks of concrete out today so I can plant my "teasing georgia" rose, saved the best for last I'll start on the tree stump tomorrow and see what I can do with it:heehee:

Very warm in the garden. I gave it all a good watering, plus a quickie in the GH then devoted some time trying to find the pathways and untangle my roses from next doors stuff that has come through the fence.
Tugging away at some honeysuckle and suddenly it snapped. Behind me was my pond, it is raised to about knee height. YES. Go on at laugh. Next I knew, I was falling backwards. The edge of the pond is touching the backs of my knees. I'm falling, falling and blast. My rear end hit the water.

It was so very strange. In reality it was if I was about to sit down but the time lapse seemed as if I was falling backwards from some great height. Silly Rsssss. Sadly I sat on a large funeral lily. name slips me at the mo.

I'd bett not say anything to daughter Amanda. Never mind eh! It dampened my enthusiasm.
