Well its been a mixed day , sowed plenty of seeds 7 varieties of petunia - cleome - digitalis Gigantea & stewartii - sweet peas - diascia - busy lizzies - penstemon twizzle purple & scarlett - echinacea pallida and some others I've forgot . Got the wallpaper table out to sit the other propagator on and moved everything round in the spare room for more pending sowing / seedling .

While I were sow I thought I'd have a look at the dahlias cause one stem caught my eye by how damp it looked , took it out rotten so took another dahlia out rotten and another and another until I inspected all the dahlias lost nearly all my dahlias :cry3:, I still got two david howard and two thomas edison and the odd one which might make it, got 4-6 plants out of roughly 17 -18 plants left. I most of stored them to damp or something but what ever happened its to late now . I am not normally to bothered about losing a plant cause I see it as an opportunity to try something else, but to lose so many at once I can't deny I am a bit gutted . The good news I've seen some I fancy and probably wouldn't of bought originally ( thats what I tell myself :heehee: ) because I didn't have anywhere to put them.

Oh that's a shame @Perki about your Dahlias  I never have any luck at storing mine at all so this year I've left them all in the borders and I'm keeping my fingers crossed!:fingers crossed:

On and off rain all day today so I was in and out most of the time. Did manage to tidy up another border though. This afternoon I sowed some more seeds, but as I have been feeling cold today for some reason I decided to make a mess in the kitchen rather than the greenhouse!!:heehee:

Got the capillary watering set up in the other indoor tent. Then decided to move the soil blocks that had germinated seeds into it. Took quite a bit of time as I now put the soil blocks in their little trays but line them first with paper toweliing and use a soldering iron to melt a hole to take a felt wick so the soil blocks can keep drawing water on their own. Had lots of soil blocks that were barren so in the end the other tent looked very empty.

Going down with some more soil block trays as soon as the low electric rates kick in in 5 minutes and the LEDs
            will light up then.

Good exercise running up and down tne stairs and then stooping to wipe up the spilt water :)

I got some more weeding done and filled another wheelie. I'm thinking of renaming them weedie bins!

I'm still waiting for more quotes and checking round the garden for what jobs I shall need to do when sorting out the other wind damage. We have a number damaged trees that we can sort out without resorting to the tree surgeons. Half the dead tree supporting this clematis has come down . It's the left hand section. I was hoping it would manage to stand for a few more years.

              P1390028.JPG

The other damaged trees are not of real importance and can fairly easily be sorted out. Fingers crossed for the storm hitting this weekend.

I've now posted the invitation and some of you have already said you will be coming :yahoo:

took today off work. car in shop for oil change. Really cold here. Hope to drag out a few more piles of leaves from any area. Had been raining two days ago, hope for dry patches to work with.

Nothing today, apart from scraping some of the fallen leaves from mum’s drive, with a view to making it less dangerous whilst unloading my car....

I spent most of my day on the road but before I went out, I put new plastic under the capillary felt in the second indoor area because the other had a hole tnat I hadn't noticed when I set it up yesterday. Got wet socks when I stepped into the 1x1 foot area to make sure the lights were low enough. So everybody out, lay new plastic, put felt back down and put everybody back in. Then mop the floor inside the unit and go change my socks!

Thanks upsy! Feeling more human today but Dennis is keeping me out the garden today. It is rotten out there. We managed to fix our electric gates and put the bird feeding station back up and fill all the feeders and now we are inside keeping cozy.

So good to hear your feeling a tad better today @Snorky85 , take it easy and put your feet.

The weather is awful here too now, the winds have definitely ramped themselves up.

Everything is creaking and groaning....and it's not just me!!!;)

I managed a couple of hours weeding this morning but am now keeping away from our trees - apart from having filled the bird feeders.
