I had to get the hose out to do a lot of hosing down after the men who came to empty our cesspit left.

Managed to hobble into the greenhouse this morning..( still waiting for xrays, can't believe that this is just one of my arthritic flare ups...they don't normally last 10mths with no let up).. Potted up some of my Fuchsia cuttings, leaving a few to grow more established roots. Added a tier to the yoghurt pot potted Sweet Peas. Checked over the Lemon Tree for scale insects...none. :dbgrtmb: Watered the Heuchera cuttings and any other plants that also required some. Potted up some bulbs that I found sprouting in the greenhouse.....no idea what they are. Surprise, surprise!!!

Yesterday started cutting the old leaves from the hellebores and dead headed the roses that are still flowering.

Yes, hope all poorlies/strugglers and aching ones feel better soon.
Now have I mentioned my sciatica, bloomin' painful, so it is?!

I was reminded the other day whilst listening to a gardening programme on the radio to clean bird feeders regularly, which I do... but also mentioned was bird baths. Now hand on heart, I cannot remember the last time I scrubbed mine!
As it's a clear, bright day, no rain for a change, I wrapped up warm, dashed outside with hot soapy water in a bucket and scrubbing brush, I gave the old stone birdbath a good clean. The top comes off, so I thought to lift it off and place it somewhere sunny. Boy, it was heavy, nearly did myself a mischief.
Well, if you do nothing else today in the garden, do give all the feeders, bird tables and baths a good clean to keep the bird population healthy and happy.
All the best everyone, in all your endeavours today.

Good point @pattie , I've just given one of mine a good scrub! Also been getting the fork into more compacted ground where the grass just isn't growing. Pretty tough going with all the stones in there too!
Didn't do too much before coming in to temper the new stove and start on making the mince pies :)

Hi all, I haven't done much over the past couple of weeks due to weather, Christmas and other stuff. The little I have done.... cleaning the bird feeders and keeping them filled. Deadheading the last few remaining flowers and checking on the tenders in the greenhouse. Clearing leaves. Not half as much as I'd like. I hope everyone is well and keeping safe. Hopefully I'll be back on here a little more now. I've missed it :blue thumb:
