Take care, Woo. Putting fence panels up is really a two man job as not only are they heavy but they are awkward to raise up above panel height to try to drop into the slots....sounds like a call to the family to help.

Hi @wiseowl Mrs Shiney is out today so I'm free. I could pop down to give you a hand. It's a nice day for a drive.

My knee is OK for doing those sort of jobs as it's only any continuous going up and down steps that is the bother at the moment. :blue thumb:

:rain::rain: and strong winds Thursday night and through to Friday afternoon. Cleared up and :hotsun:.

Removed half of compost from one of the baths, added a generous layer of gravel and then back filled the compost. I've left a Geranium and two Celeriacs in there for time being as nowhere else for them to go. Still deciding whether to eventually plant up with Lavender or Herbs. I did plant one of the other baths with Herbs awhile ago but they didn't do all that well, not even the Sage. Not sure why as that bath also had old compost and lots of gravel. The buns love their Herbs so I definitely want to grow them. Had another go at removing grass and weeds from the block paving :phew:. They were not keen on vacating. I got dive bombed by one of the Sparrows. It's a bit of a game for him I think. They were on the house roof watching as I filled a bowl of food in the porch. As I came out I noticed a tuft of grass growing out of the block paving and bent down to remove it. He spotted the opportunity and I got buzzed :heehee:.Benched it afterwards with coffee and sugar free Marie biscuits - slightly better taste than the digestives.

This morning has been spent tidying stuff up. Miscanthus giganteus cut down to the floor ready for next years growth, lots of dead leaves and dead top growth picked up from the tropical plants, kiwi pruned, fig pruned, autumn raspberries cut down. Time for a break and a snack before I trample the skip down and start round 2

I know, I know. I long for sofa days but don't seem to get them. And when I do, I cant relax. Hopefully I'll manage a few afternoons in the hammock when the weather warms up. Refuelled now with pea and ham soup. Time for round 2 with the help of the dogs

Me : I think we need another skip for the hedge and a bit of tidying up

Wife : Do you think a mini skip will be ok ?

Me : Lets get an 8 yard-er. I think we'll just about fill it

Two weeks later and lots of trampling down :

                              IMG_4431.jpg

And that's after having the last skip removed in late November.

Only shoveled a little to get to the greenhouse. We're into hour two of twelve for expected snowfall.
