I use a little Deep Heat on my back each morning, make sure you wash your hands before rubbing your eyes though.

Lovely and sunny here today but still very windy and cold.
Builders are here and fencing should be finished today. No major work was done yesterday as the boss just came for an hour or so and finished painting the first set of lats on the inside and painted all the planks of wood ready for cutting and putting straight up today. About 1/5th already done this morning so hoping it'll all be done. Maybe they will be painting all the outside of it tomorrow.

Been down to the greenhouse this morning and put my lights on to give the seedlings an extra boost. All the cosmos has germinated, and the nicotiana has just started sprouting through. About 30% of the clary sage has sprouted. Leeks showing no signs of life yet.

Today is the start of silly season, just grabbing a cuppa, its pricking out seed grown plugs day, 6 packs of argeratum, allysum, mesembryanthemum, and the new downy mildew resistance Beacon busy lizzie, also pricked out cleome in 4 colours, and division of some perennials. After a cuppa, move on to second round of seeding, pack bedding verbena, petunia, phlox popstars, marigolds etc.
Then this evening got to transplant 9cm perennial liners into their retail pots. Then its beer and kebab time.:popouch:

I'm going to finish mixing the soil in the hanging pots and start sewing seeds in them. Nicotiana, salvia, etc. That will be done this morning. And I have finished making soil blocks to fill the last of my little trays and started seeds in those. I believe this morning I will have finished sowing all of the seeds that need to be started indoors. I will be double checking what is in the binder to make sure I haven't missed a packet that needs to be started early. :fingers crossed:

I need to get things cleared up a bit as some friends had a fire at their place and are without power. I've offered for them to stay here. They might not take me up on my offer but if they do, I want to be ready.

My friends are being put up in a hotel by the insurance company so they won't be staying with me but I did give them the code to my front door in case they want to do laundry or cook something or whatever.

Back to gardening jobs - ARGHHHH!!! Why did I leave the automatic openers in the greenhouses over the winter, one of them no longer works as the cylinder must have frozen too hard and cracked. Ordered a replacement but still angry with myself

Oh well, back to seed sowing... :)

I put on my mucky gardening clothes, old fishing wellies, and went out into the garden full of ambition and jobs to do..........and then it started to drizzle heavily:wallbanging::gaah:
So, sticking a finger skywards to the Gods, I cleaned out the main Bird Bath, refilled the Bird Feeders, fed the Fish in the Wildlife pond, put back the long Bird Feeder that I'd taken apart, cleaned out (long job:doh:), and stood under the Acer Brilliantissimum for shelter as I tried to see what is what in the borders. As it was still drizzling I headed for the Green House, did a swapping around of the types of watering cans as one was too small for watering jobs in the Green House. I took that one back into the House as it was ideal to watering the House Plants and the Nepenthes in the hanging pots and took the larger watering can I'd been using back into the Green House. I only use rainwater from the two 55 gallon Water Butts at the back of the Green House for all of the plants in the Green House, so I refilled both of the Watering Cans reading for watering all the plants that needed it. I put the 5 Clematis that arrived yesterday and repotted into larger pots onto one of the tables from the floor as they were getting in my way when I was trying to move around in the Green House. Some of the offsets I pulled from the Alliums when planting them I had put into pots to grow on, but a lot of them have grown into sizeable bulbs so I'm thinking that they can go into the borders as they will flower this year. As it was still drizzling I headed for the House and a mug of Tea.:cat-kittyandsmiley::coffee:

Been at my Dad's all day and spent a lovely afternoon in his garden.
I sowed all of his Wildlife garden, being watched by some beady eyed birds that swooped in for a snack as soon as I walked away!!

Then weeded out some newly erupting G E from one of his longest borders, direct sowing some more seeds as I went.....more snacking for the birds.

Checked over all the over wintering plants in his greenhouse and gave them all a drink.
Gave his Lemon Tree a Winter Citrus feed too.

Nothing is as valuable as privacy @Snorky85 and I am so glad you got it resolved. I'll never forget the day the hillbillies next door built a surround for their barbecue which they had positioned directly opposite my over the kitchen sink window. As soon as I saw it I did a happy dance all over the kitchen :)
