Like the look of that just ordered 5 bare roots, I'll try it in pots.

I think pots are the way to go with them @mazambo. I read today that even a tiny morsel left in the ground will regrow so I'm a bit conflicted about adding it to my garden! I do like the intense blue flowers and having something that attracts Holly Blues into the garden, but I already have Eupatorium cannabinum for that, I'll see how that does this year and maybe try Green Alkanet if I have no joy. :)

A full day out there, mostly some more dig-dig-dig-whack-whack-whacking. The front border has been transformed from Heathrow 3 into a mushy, crumbly, fluffy pile of fertile looking soil :wub2: with a little help of copious amounts of manure, MPC and the aforementioned dig-dig-etc.

The Family disrupted the digging with their constant demands, first The Teenager asking if we could perhaps cook something for lunch (now what exactly is wrong with a bag of Cheese Puffs with some Pinot Grigio, honestly? ) and then the Dad Selleri and Siblings Selleri with the weekly Skype video call. We might have chosen a better day, on Sunday afternoons I'm in general in my gardening gear, with seriously unwashed hair and not a dot of embellishments such as mascara, huffy and puffy and smelling of manure (thankfully not (yet) transmitted by Skype). The family must feel very sorry for me. Next Sunday I'll wear my blacktie frock and full make up, swear!

Anyways, planted some Vinca cuttings, watered, watered, watered all containers and newly planted plants and spied on neighbours' grass. I need some grass seed and 4in1 urgently.

I decided to start planting some of the Hardy Perennials and Nectarscordum bulbs into the borders which have been sitting in the Green House. The Nectarscordum were meant for the local Gardening Club Sale but, of course, the Lockdown has put that out of the question. So, I had around 34 of them which I decided to plant, where possible in three's. In the pots the bulbs are just sitting in the compost but, on planting, they need to be a couple of inches below the soil

The Patio is starting to look a bit untidy and crowded while I'm in the midst of deciding what plants go where.
But a small, at the moment, Banana Plant has gone into the empty blue pot in the centre of the pic. The Daffs are a cheerful sight as I pass them doing this and that.

Fritillaria and Alliums are popping up all over the borders and surprising me as I'd forgotten, in some cases, where I had planted them:doh:

This Peony Bartzella has been thriving, to my surprise, in the large green Chinese pot. I've been giving it a feed of a weak solution of organic fertiliser which seems to agree with it.

Tomorrow I plan to plant the 11 Clematis into different areas in the garden and then start again with the Hardy Perennials........and I still haven't pruned/cut down the last of the Buddleja:dunno::cat-kittyandsmiley::coffee:

@clanless thank you for posting your picture of lobelia seedlings. My pip squeaks don't look like that. Same company sold me cat grass that is definitely not cat grass.

Guess I'll have to wait and see

I got my kelsaes planted out and their pots washed. A bit more tidying and just sucking up the rays. A beautiful sunny day. Got up to 59f :)

Well its been a reasonable nice warm day more hazy sun shine but still pleasant. I've been moving plants from the house into the GH and plants which can survive outside out of the GH to make room. The GH is nice and tidy now but my dahlias are taking their time shooting but hopefully soon they spring to life :fingers crossed:

I also took the garden bench out and placed it back under the pergola and had a cup of tea , like usual I noticed a problem with the Ligularia Przewalaskii it's everywhere but where I planted it originally, it seeds around like mad here and with having my border spade next to me prompt action, they don't half sulk ligularia getting moved around :psnp:.

Well after that back to relaxing on the bench enjoying an ice lolly while thinking who planted all these alliums they're everywhere

Spent around half an hour cutting back brambles and then chopping them up into a sack. I have a concrete rectangle where I keep a storage box and a couple of pots, so decided to swap them over as the storage box side gets more sun. I planted two Lavenders into a pot each, adding lots of gravel and spent compost first. Swept up the mess made. Got out a zero and chilled for awhile. One of the Chaffinch's was in such a hurry to get to the food I had put on the patio table his wing tip brushed my ear on his way past :)

I did some more digging and weeding but that is going to have to stop until we get some rain. The areas that need proper digging and weeding are rock hard. I'm going over the areas that I have managed to water so far and am doing the fine weeding there.

New Garden? Bigger? :blue thumb: Could you just have two/three bins? "Filling" and "Composting". Turnign from #1 to #2 would help, but you might be able to avoid sifting, or you might dislike it less after the compost has had 2x as long to mature

I buy my sweet peas as seedlings from Garden Centre. I did a calculation, many years ago, that if I selectively choose pots of seedlings that have the most in them :old: it works out cheaper than buying seed. Having carefully thought this strategy through ...

... this year no Sweet Peas!

Teenager + Pinot Grigio maybe?

                          Hi All,

As posted yesterday, I have started to undo the 2 years of neglect of the veg plot.

Good mornings work and started to make a hole in it.

I would have got a lot more done, but my 6 year old daughter wanted to get involved, so we spent 2 hours pot washing. Hopefully I can get out a bit later, but I am lined up to do some decorating today.

I would love too, but I fear the rest of isolation could be a bit awkward with the boss. Hopefully I can get out later this afternoon after I have done the prepping. It is only a small job of redecoration the ceiling where the shower leaked. Had it plastered a couple of weeks ago, but got no excuse not to get it sorted.

So much bigger; nothing compared to the scale you have, but I'll (hopefully) be upgrading from this....

For now it is definitely not a job I will be doing today, so is decidedly off topic
