It's actually raining here at the moment which is the first rain we've had in several weeks. so apart from pottering in the Green House and watching the Birds flitting here and there it's been a quiet day.
However, yesterday I was back in the garden checking on the borders and the Tulips have given such a long splash of colour and it's been the effort of planting all them.

Despite the fact that I keep the Lilac "Madame Lemoine" prune to an acceptable height it always flowers and you can smell the heavy scent as you do some gardening work nearby. The Birds love it, using it as cover when using the Bird Feeders and the Bird Bath.

Also, it looks like the Bearded Iris in the large pots

are going to flower well this year after being divided last year. The experts recommend that you don't need to water Bearded Iris or feed them but just let them get on with it but that advice didn't convince me. So, always one for bending the rules I've been feeding all the Iris with an organic, treacle thick feed that even smells like Treacle!!:heehee: Anyway, the regular feeding and watering of the Iris does seem to have paid off as nearly all of the early flowering Iris have produced flowering stems:hapydancsmil:
The Clematis "Miss Bateman" which is planted under the Climbing Rose "Masquerade" has benefited from the weekly feed of all the Roses and is
    flowering nicely

Also "supervising" from the vantage point of the Kitchen window sill were
    Teasel and Fern

I have two old stone Cottage Sinks rescued from Cottages that were being knocked down and I think I'm going to give them a complete replanting of them.

There's always jobs to be done in the garden!!!:dunno::heehee::cat-kittyandsmiley::coffee:

That's exactly what my wife said!
I think there was also a question in the air on the lines of "and what are they doing on the living room table?" but I whisked them to the garden before it could take shape :)

        What happened to it?
Last year I bough two from B&Q, they were going for £19 I think, so it seemed a pity not to.
One for my wife and one for the the shiitake mushrooms, which worked ok but turned out to be more hassle than it was worth. So I am using them both for gardening now.
I would have never expected to find them so useful actually, given they are so small. Our house is tiny and crammed already, so being able to put out dozens plants early (actually, hundreds potentially with the blocks) makes a huge difference..
Actually now I am not even sure if I have enough garden space to plant them all :biggrin:

I don't know why, but I had it in my head that you were moving? Is this bad neighbours at your new home, or am I barking up the wrong tree entirely....

Good neighbours cannot be underestimated, and I am so fortunate that our neighbours are very good indeed - I cannot imagine how hard it must be for you with bad neighbours to put up with, especially if it has gotten to the point of having the police involved. Hope you get it resolved soon.

@Snorky85 my heart goes out to you and I'm sending a curse to the imbeciles. I'm glad you got them on CCTV and have the authorities involved.

I had a shocking time today. It tried to rain up until about an hour ago so I only picked up my primula from the gardening center whilst it was cloudy. Then when the sun came out I figured I might as well work on the electric fence charger since it didn't seem to be operating.

I had already pulled down all the wires for restringing and I put the meter to it one last time before taking it off the fence to replace the battery. And I decided to do one last test by turning it on again and grabbing both terminals. Nothing. So I turned it off, took it down, brought it in and took off the back to install a new 6v battery. Jiggling it out of it's bay, I must have joggled things enough to fix the connection and accidently turned it back on. Then something. Enough something to make me jump and shout! :yikes: It's back on the fence, still with old battery and giving out a nasty jolt every 4 seconds. Still have to restring the wires but at least I've got the main unit operating. :)

I made my bean teepee with some of the poles from the old netwall and wrapped the netting around it for the beans to climb.

Got my empty pots set at the side of the house ready to be rinsed.

Not much in all but I'm content

                They are so handy.
I had what looks like the same one as yours up until last year. We moved house. I had it screwed to the fence as it was a really windy garden and it nearly ended up in next doors garden on a few occasions :yikes: with all the plants in it. It took quite a beating so by the time we moved it was pooped. I haven't had chance to replace it yet but I do miss it. I'm so jealous :blue thumb:

Honestly, a break from time to time is not bad..
I tried and working in the garden today and within 20 minutes I was soaked and freezing, I think the good weather spoiled me, so I went back home and had a hot chocolate instead :D

Yes, I had to secure them as well, being so small it takes little wind to blow them away.
I considered putting an Amazon label on them with my name and address just in case, so I could always tell the neighbour that it was my plants delivery, but Amazon drone got the wrong garden :D

I am sure that if you keep an eye on offers something will pop up. Now sellers are not discounting yet, but once the lockdown finishes I suspect they will have the usual midsummer sales.
Or perhaps the new garden is a good excuse to get something bigger ;)

Surely, if we had the space my wife would love a walk-in greenhouse, so relaxing to sit in it surrounded by your plants :)

I will treat myself at some point as I am missing it now. I'm slowly working on this new garden so as I'm getting to know it a bit more I'll get itchy feet I'm sure now summer is on it's way. Theres no better feeling than growing your own goodies. :blue thumb:

With my back garden in upheaval since last Wednesday due to work on and around my septic tanks, I've done very little out there apart from potter. It's been difficult to get much done when the work needs a certain amount of supervision but I did manage to get my front lawns mowed today. It's the last day of work tomorrow and after I'll be concentrating on getting the garden straight which will take some while, months probably.

I've been taking pictures along the way so I'll create a thread later in the week for anyone that's interested.

My dear friend. I do offer you words of comfort regarding your Herpes zoster. I know how painful that can be. I was laid low with it in 1984. It attacked the left half of my skull and face. Medication was useless and I was in and out of consciousness for three months. Even now I get eye pain from it. Get well soon.

Thank you Mike. It sounds like you had a bad bout of it! I didn’t realise that we can never get rid of it...that the virus stays deep down until our immune system drops...which can be caused by stress! I first had it when I was about 20 (15yrs ago) and was so itchy. I’ve now got meds to take 5 times a day for a week. Takes a few days for them to start working apparently-so hopeful will get some relief soon. The itchy patch is starting to ache. Ugh!

well not done any gardening today. Just fed the birds, the fish and did the pond fish treatment again. Just checked in the greenhouse to see whether a naughty mouse had eaten my courgette seeds again...-all ok so far!

@Fat Controller ah yes-we were supposed to be moving, we’d got a buyer and then the moron neighbours put a stupid sign up that put buyers off.

We also decided that we are not going to be bullied out of our lovely home-so we eventually got planning permission for a front fence and now waiting for planning for a carport to totally block them. And our home insurance is funding a case to sue our site management company (the nuisance neighbour is the director). Fingers crossed it works out. Police going down the harassment route now too.

ooh i could do with an electric fence! Ha ha!:hate-shocked:

i could also do with a spell or a curse to put on the horrid neighbours! Funnily enough I remember in New Orleans a couple of years ago that a “witch” said that you shouldn’t put a bad curse on others as it will always come back to you-like karma. So put a good omen on yourself or your home instead! So....I have been looking up herbs to hang in the archway over the entrance to our garden and over our front door-something to keep bad people at bay. :stirpot::heehee:

@ARMANDII your tulips are looking stunning-definitely worth all the effort you went to
