Started my new indoor space. Have some wiring to tidy up but everything works- so far....

This is how they look on the outside when all zipped up

The doors unzip so I can step in and water, clean etc

The lights, heat mat in both pods are on a timer. The dryer vent style hose at the right hand side goes into the second unit so that it too is ventilated during the time that the lights are operating. I haven't started any seeds in the second pod yet but some of the ones in the first pod have already germinated.

Think I'll buy another shop style light and replace the compact fluorescent fixture I threw together using an old piece of wood and bits and pieces of wiring. The lamp at the back is a little hps unit. Lots of room to raise the fixtures to accommodate taller plants.

That was today's busy time aside from housework. Tomorrow I tackle the timers and led wiring out in the greenhouse. I want to use my battery power to lengthen the day for the romaine lettuce out there.

Thanks for looking at my bad photography... :)

Clearing up after Angus stormed through and ripped a couple of branches off a pine tree, one of which is still stuck about 20ft up.

Well, it was just another day of quiet weather here in Cheshire.:dunno:. We had some very light rain during the night and no winds and it was drizzling lightly up to around 10am and since then it's been very quiet weatherwise:coffee: Storm Angus just didn't get North enough, I guess, although it has done enough damage and flooding in the South.

Cleaned out shed number 1 today. I cannot believe how many plant pots I have. Ordered tool hooks off eBay so that I can start moving tools into the small shed as I am having this as the tool shed and kids bikes etc will go into the large shed. This then saves having to get bikes out and past the greenhouse. Measured up for refurbished veg beds and new compost bins, and marked it all out. Hopefully will get the timber to start next week.

Almost did some work in the garden today but stopped after filling up the bird feeders. The excuse I made was that I didn't want to disturb the flocks of birds out there.

Finally got into the garden after about a month due to falling of ladder at work
Maybe lost a few plants due to the -5'c we had the other night . Dug up the cannas and mulched around the musa's. Managed to get all the tulips and daffs I brought back in October. Covered everything that's worth saving tonight as it's going to be another cold one.

Didn't do much in the garden this weekend, did get a couple of little jobs done though.

Spent an hour or so yesterday tidying up an area in one of the borders which is mostly planted with low growing herbaceous plants, mainly hardy geraniums and alchemilla. I cut off all the dead top growth and went through it with a springbok rake afterwards to remove the loose debris and a certain amount of moss which had crept in.

This afternoon I set about sorting out a clump of agapanthus in the herbaceous border. It had gradually been infiltrated by grass and some stray crocosmia from a nearby patch which I had dug out last year. Both were proving difficult to remove, so I dug up the entire clump of agapanthus, teased it all apart and got rid of all the grass roots and crocosmia corms. Then it was just a matter of replanting a few clumps of the agapanthus roots and potting up a few spare ones to overwinter in the cold greenhouse as an insurance.

Gave the lotty a good tidy over this morning at 10am. Dug another load of manure in. Was nice and easy after the rain last night. Also tidied up the leaves from the apple tree and dug out old raspberries so I can get to the apple tree easily for pruning in Jan.

Mrs Shiney did some more cutting back of shrubs/perennials, Michael cleared the last of the leaves and filled two wheelie bins and another one ton bag with them and I finished trimming all of the edges and started on getting moss out of the flower beds. I filled three buckets with compressed moss and they will have to wait until the wheelie bins are emptied Wednesday morning before being dumped in them. The Sunday, weekly, council green waste lorry (tours the villages for people to bring their waste to it) stops coming at the end of November so the buckets will have to wait.

Fortunately I have a load of buckets so can continue to fill them with moss from the flower beds. My back doesn't allow me to do too much at a time.

Next week we have scheduled in the pruning of the remaining apple trees now that the last of the apples are down.

Good morning cleaned the pond out, removed the spent water lily leaves and cleaned the pond pump, filled the bird feeders up,and had a conversation with our local Robin but as soon as I point the camera at him he flys away, must be camera shy,but I will gain his confidence;)
