Just watering and dead heading today. Gave the lawn a good watering there a tinge of green coming through now, but I'm sure the bird are eating the seed!

Made use of a bit of a dead spot today; its a narrow strip between my raspberries and the veg patch so I decided to create a mini woodland floor with another wildlife lodge/shelter (having already built a mini log shed), this is an old pallet with some turf on the top and some entrance tubes under it. I've also put a lovely old stump with moss in amongst the mountains of leaf mould I had stored and scattered some pine cones on top. It's solid concrete below the leaves but they are a good 8-10" deep near the back so I will get a few native plants that I can leave in pots and hide in the leaf mould. I will also be adding to the wildlife lodge for more shelter........but I'm happy so far with an hours work :)

Cut the lawn and tidied the edges after work, our 3 year old helped and then helped me rake the soil. Watered, cooked the dinner, washed up, fed the baby, asked me best m8 to be a godfather, had a brew and a ciggie, browsed the net, fed the baby again :blue thumb:

Tomorra will be the same except cutting the lawn thing and and the godfather thing. Life annot get any betterererer!!!! ( although, a good nights kip would be very welcome! )

Arrived at 11pm,last night my friends "lawn" is knee high and she has a very interesting nettle by the back door :heehee: ,could see that in the dark. :hate-shocked:, its nothing a lawn mower and a sturdy pair of garden gloves can`t sort ,but perhaps not today ,

Yesterday was another one of tidying up, pressure hosing (only a couple of days more needed) and moving the sprinkler around the garden. It's sad to see the leaves so droopy on lots of plants but good to see them perk up after having a very good drink.

Bilbo, your wildlife area looks great :dbgrtmb:

Based on your post, I decided my own garden could do with a bit of a watering ... so, yesterday late afternooon I thought I would spend half an hour doing it before getting tea on  2 hours later :phew: :phew: :phew: Mind you, I clearly did a good enough job because, letting the ducks out this morning, the ground is still looking wet and the plants are looking fresher :dbgrtmb:

                Hi All,

Got in from work at 6:10 this morning had a cuppa and stroll around the garden. The border at the bottom is starting to encroach on the path so I thought I would finish my cuppa and start pruning/dead heading etc. Just looked at the time and suddenly thought my god I've been up nearly 24 hrs so I'm going to have a couple of hours kip and then carry on tidying the garden and clearing/ replanting some pots. Need to give the garden a good soak later aswell.

                Rusty
