The side, smaller fence has a Hebe to the right of the Escallonia. Beyond the back, higher fence, there is nothing but weeds and nothing purple. The picture is a little deceiving as what you can see over the back fence, trees etc., are in my neighbours garden, but there is a road between me and them.

    Does this help Joolz? :)

If I've got time tomorrow I'll go and take a closer shot for you, then we can 'pick the bones' out of that, if you'll excuse the expression. :heehee:

I was a proverbial busy bee yesterday owing to more comfortable temperatures and a refreshing breeze

I managed to get both lawns cut, did some weeding, cut all the hedges (quite a few feet :snork:), cut back the neighbours rampaging Russian Vine - AGAIN :rolleyespink:

Then after tea following the completion of my boys seating area I built this seat for Mum and Dad; made completely from materials I've got off freecycle it cost nothing to build, just got to varnish it and perhaps ingrave/carve a design into the back.

            Plants 204.jpg

            Phew!!! :snork::thud:

              Bilbo,
that is a lovely bench. As solid as a rock. They will love it,
Can we see a photo of it in the "Garden benches" thread when it's all done and dusted please?

Mowed all the front lawns, trimmed edges of about 500ft of beds and just had an enormous bonfire :dbgrtmb:

Sorry, Jenny, it was an impromptu thing as the forecast said it was going to rain soon. So far the rain has got within two fields of Shineyland but the sun has kept shining.

I'll try and give advance notice of the next one. :dbgrtmb:

I've had an extended weekend just to try and get a few jobs ticked off the list. A list that doesn't really exist, I just seem to have a habit of creating work my self.

Friday morning was spent shuttering up an 2.4m x 1.8m base for a new shed of some sort. I say of some sort, as in reality this was a job that I didn't really want to be doing at all. The neighbours daughter has been hassling me for a year to build her and my daughter a camp. My daughter is 13yrs old and wasn't fussed, the neighbours daughter is 12yrs old. I have been putting it off in the hope that aproaching teen years would have made her forget it. It hasn't, so reluctantly have have started the project. I figure that in reality I shall be gaining a new shed/storage area.
Once the shuttering was up, I then mixed up and wheel barrowed the required 1 cubic metre of concrete. The ground falls away a bit, hence the measurement of concrete.
I did this job Friday as I knew that my ankle and knee joints would struggle to cope with it, and it gave me two days to recover.

Some chance of recovery, as I get bored quicker than that, and spent Saturday continuing with the insulating and boarding out of the outside loo area. I also got started on trying to tidy the garden.

Today was spent, clearing the boundry hedge lines of the surrounding neighbours weeds and brambles, straightening a fence, forking out the lawn in a few places where it had become compacted, spreading some weed and feed, and then this afternoon, cleaning the outside of the shed and then painting it.

Tonight is going to be a chilled out evening drinking a couple of pints of Tribute.

Eddie, that's a lot of work, you should take it a bit easier :). We don't want you getting laid up :nonofinger:

                            Well done, Kaz

Jenny, guess what? After the bonfire I came in and had a shower and then went out to make sure the fire had burned down properly. Mrs Shiney had been at work :rolleyespink: and has got the makings of the next one sorted out. So another couple of weeks should have it ready as long as we have some warm dry days.
