      Thought I'd just pop out to start painting a bit of the garage. Three (very sunburned) hours later I've done the whole side behind the Rose border :yes: so I can start digging over and planting the rest of the Roses which are going in there. Amazing how much nicer it looks and that's without even sorting the window/door which need to be replaced.

      I just know my shoulders are going to be sore tomorrow :cry3:

      Nothing more to be done today - going to feed the birds/cats/dogs, have a shower and then watch Wimbo.

        I did a couple of hours mowing before going to the library and shopping. That was after having spent 30 minutes just unwinding and dragging the hose to the front bed by the road and setting up the sprinkler.

        I didn't get too hot doing that but I've edged four of the lawns this afternoon and gave up half an hour ago when the temperature hit 82F.

          That's a Magic Number, like 61F, and how I remember/judge Centigrade / Fahrenheit

          16C = 61F
          28C = 82F

          :)

          Oh ... and in case you are considering Plant Hardiness -40F = -40C :)

              Very important garden work done this afternoon. I carried out a close inspection of my lawn to see how it is getting on. I had to lay down on it and everything, and even had to put my sun hat over the side of my head to protect me from the baking sunshine as I took the time to see what happens if I spend more than a few minutes laying in the spot.

                Just finished watering. Been a beautiful day.
                Spent a whole 4 hours in the garden without doing anything apart from sat with the little un and the missus, in his paddling pool a nice nice cold one from the fridge.
                Just bliss

                  Finally planted out the last of the plants into their final positions, including lobbing some scrappy looking nasturtiums into gaps on the border where the hollyhock and the elder tree is - its quite a shady border, so they might not even come to anything, but at least I tried.

                  Then I pressure washed all the patio furniture (goodness only knows why we thought the white fabric stuff would be a good idea when we bought it), and then pressure washed the back patio area before watering everything.

                  Before work tomorrow, it will be a case of rearranging pots, planters and furniture to make the place look tidier, and apart from a run to the dump and the shed to clear out, the hard work is all but done now - its a case of water it, feed it, sit in it and hopefully eat some of it :yes:

                      Today I will be mostly planting out Roses and painting fences and moving planters around the garden with the aid of my trusty trolley.

                        I was out there, weeding, at 5 a.m. as I don't like working in the heat. The ground is cracking up, so is the lawn, and the sprinkler is gradually being moved around the flower beds.

                              Hot n' sweaty and arms covered in scratches but I've finally finished the Rose border. Once it's all in full flower, I'll take pics, but this is what I've planted. The two Clematis are planted with the climbing Roses (Teasing Georgia and Gertrude Jekyll so they are sharing the same obelisk.
