Potted on my sweet peppers, washed a load of pots and trays again and spent an hour or so feeding plants this evening.

I've been out in the garden, earlier on, doing some weeding and have just come in from 20 minutes of winding the beans up the poles. The plants are doing very well and a lot of them are now over 10ft.

They keep producing lots of new climbers and it helps them get going quicker if I train them up the poles instead of them waving around trying to find them. I don't know whether they actually grow quicker but they definitely seem to grow thicker as soon as they are comfortably on the poles.

They stay fairly thin whilst they're waving around trying to find something to climb up and seem to produce flowers quicker once they are hooked on.

I'm now going to rig up the sprinkler to water them and the courgettes, squash and marrows. :dbgrtmb:

I've repositioned two of the Roses I planted yesterday because they weren't evenly spaced. Used the tape measure this time. Chilling under the ceiling fan thinking about what to do next

I've supervised the plants from my living room :heehee: Well, before I had a nap on the sofa.

Just watching Wimbledon then I'll get out and water everything. Apparently it's in the forties on Centre Court - that's hot!

Tied in loads of tomatoes again, nipped out a few robbers, hung my flower pouches out on the driveway entrance, hung another couple up on the back fence, rearranged my pots and planters, put the tomatoes that are in really small pots on trays so they can sit in some water on the hot days to stop them wilting in the heat) then I cut the grass, and since then have had the sprinkler going on the shady side of the grass (will do the other side later) as its in dire need.

Dead headed the Paeonies - still a few secondary buds and flowers, although they won't put on much of a show. Ditto for the lupins; that should stop the mass invasion of blackfly shortly :)

Absolutely nothing today until later when I shall water - and that will be the extent of my efforts.

              Took some piccies though:

Beans and peas, not looking too happy?

              IMAG0368.jpg

Flowers finally battling through the foliage.

The nasturtiums under the theives conifers have settled in nicely (grass is still terribly dry though!)

And the scruffy border - the last to be planted, and shady - still, you never know. The rescued hollyhock is still heading skywars though.

Your garden is looking very lush, FC, it's very clear how much attention you have given it (and time!) :dbgrtmb:

I've spent the past few hours in the front garden when I only "popped out" there for half an hour to weed the bed under the front window (which I planted earlier this year). Once that was done, and it took far longer than I planned because it has been a little neglected, I then attacked the kerria which is swamping the shrub border twix back gate and front wall. It was wonderful to note that the shrubs I gave a crew cut to back in Spring have all rejuvenated themselves nicely (except for the blasted kerria which is r.a.m.p.a.n.t! ). I'm sorely tempted to rip the whole bed out and begin from scratch - but, that would be foolish at this moment in time, so I'll just walk up the front path with my eyes closed in future :heehee:

All looks neat as a new pin FC. Isn't the flower border coming on a treat? And a good idea to plant those nasturtiums under the firs as they are more likely to put all their effort into flowering instead of a jungle of leaves.
I like the raised brick box border in front of the GH too.
                    Lovely now,
                    Jenny

Like you FC mate, nothing but watering later on. I was outside watering last night at 11, so probably the same again tonight. It was 28c here so with my sandy, free draining soil it's as dry as a dry thing, on a dry day in dry land, drysville!

Garden looking fab as well mate, you should be well 'appy with it!

Getting the water feature fixed! It's a second pond (no fish) with a waterfall coming down from the top of the rockery. It's not finished yet, but all the tadpoles have been moved back in :)
