Only watering and feeding for me today; took a few photos of the front, but they aren't great I'm afraid as the sun was blazing right at me when trying to take them:

      RHEUM PALMATUM 'BOWLES' CRIMSON'
"Sumptuous crimson leaves Feb-May turn greener later but may improve in autumn, amazing carmine flowers Apr-May, 2m. Easy. Underplant with cheap red tulips to cause fainting in spring."

:heehee: He does get a bit carried away at times :)

I don't think so Sheal - ours is such a light, airy wee place however theirs seems to be really dingy at the front; still, it must suit them. :)

Watering and dead-heading, and more watering, and more dead-heading. Oh, and I tied some peas in that were reluctant to stay upright.

Today, lad and I moved about 2 tonnes of earth by hand, in preparation for war. NERF war that is.

We built a great mound dividing the main part of the garden from the main play area. This mound is about 2ft tall on the lowest point, and about 4ft from the play area (which is sunk in relation to the rest of the garden).

It is strategically important because it provides a position of cover for assaulting the fortress, which is just beyond the play area (out of shot, behind me as I took the photo), and also provides cover when emerging from the side entrance/exit of the willow tunnel network.
