Tonight I watered the lawn as it was in desperate need of a drink, watered and deadheaded the plants.

Also, gave chase to a group of youths who thought it'd be funny to throw balloons filled with water through open windows of houses. Hehe, pity I didn't have my lads super soaker ready!

This weekend's jobs will consist of :

          Mow lawn
Paint fence panels where trellis is going (x4)
Attach trellis and paint it (x4)
          Plant out Clematis (x2)
Remove Dahlias and Peony from tubs and plant out front
          Move planters about
          Paint last bit of garage
          Paint more fence panels
Paint double gates after doing some repairs
Paint fence panels in front garden
Sit back with large G&T/shandy/wine (not all at the same time) and feel self satisfied :ccheers:

Doubt I'll get it all done but weather is forecast to be nice for the next week so as long as I get the four panels painted where the trellis is going, I can paint a fence panel or two each evening until the rest is finished

Nothing for me today - got to work a late shift again, however that has its own consolations as it means I am working in an air conditioned room which suits me grand as I don't do well in the extremely hot weather.

Today was spent on a research mission. Wife, lad, my mam and I went in plain clothes to my sister's garden for a "barbecue". While at the "barbecue", I was covertly studying planting schemes and subtly enquiring of her chap what certain plants were. It was very hard work. I had to eat food, lay on grass, look at plants, drink beer and everything.

A busy day yesterday went round to the other halfs grandmas
trimmed back a apple tree from over hanging the raised veg plot, then mowed the lawn and cut the hedge then put the last of the bedding out.
Then around to my other half cousin to trim back 60ft length of hedge with shears :ideaIPB:
Which was fairly hard work in the heat , but keeps you fit
Then of to a mates BBQ which somehow involved me gardening again.
He ran out of charcoal so off we went to the local shop and ended coming back with 4 planters and 4 trays of mixed bedding
So planted them up while drinking a few cold un's

                        .

Been out watering the window box Tomatoes, the big square pot of dwarf mixed Dahlias - they will be amazing in a few days time, lots of buds on the point of bursting. Then staking and tying in an unruly Achillea, next to a shrubby Salvia(Dysons Joy) that's getting in the way of a Fuchsia (Deltas Sarah) and an unruly clump of Campanula tracelium that's cramping the style of an up and coming Salvia faranacia Victoria. This is the name of the game now, keeping the flock under control . They are a bit skittish and full of themselves,
                          Jenny

No gardening yesterday - apart from an hour of watering - as we had visitors and it was too hot!

I've done about an hour and a half of weeding in the hot sun (all the shady bits have now been weeded) and 20 minutes of bean winding and chatting to them. :heehee:
